12 days before christmas and take it down 12 days after, that is the law handed down via superstition in my family lol
I don’t celebrate Christmas anymore mind, to me it is only ever filled with anger, fights and more… no point because it destroys the true spirit for me. Sad I know
We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving usually (family tradition) and it comes down the day after Christmas. I love Christmas, it’s such a beautiful, colorful, cheerful holiday. It is too bad it’s become so commercialized, people forget the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. We have a new member in our family we get to see so this is an extra special Christmas for our family this year.
Tree: we have an artificial tree and it stays up all year.
Other decorations: whenever someone gets around to it, depending on how busy we are.
My parents’ tree generally goes up on Christmas Eve and stays until well after New Year’s. They buy a real tree every year, and procrastination runs in the family. They leave a lot of nativity scenes up all year long, so there isn’t much other decorating for them to do.
Used to do it on the 1st of December. And it comes down the day after Christmas.
We sometimes put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but it’s more like the 1st week of December and I take it down right after Christmas. I have decorations that I can use all winter so that helps. We sometimes do lights outside, but not every year.
Like 2 weeks before Christmas, and take it down before New Years Eve.
I was about to ask who the new member was NIkki!! LOL duh We are so excited!! We are going to get our tickets today before the prices shoot up! SO expensive.
We’ll be home December 15-26th probably.
We put our tree up on Dec. 13th, that was my mom’s birthday, and we take it down after Little Christmas which is Jan. 6th.
We put up our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving but I like to try and get our outdoor lights and figures out sooner than that but I don’t turn them on until after Thanksgiving. It’s just easier to hang all the lights out before it’s freezing. If Jason is over I like to try and get his help because he has a way of getting everyone else up and going. Paul and Toby have a way of….um…….putsing!
We might not be coming home- we looked at tickets and they’re at least $300 a ticket. Baby Ben costs more than we thought he would!
The day after thanksgiving.
NOOOO Tessa!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously?? I’m so sad
Joy, we got tickets!! Yea!! I’m so excited for everyone to meet Ben. My mom got us the best present ever! A ticket home. Dec 16th-Dec 26th
That’s awesome Tessa. I knew someone would. We all so much want to meet Benjamin. We’ll have to plan what we’re going to do.
Well, like many wives, I start mentioning a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving how lights and stuff could come out of the attic on that day right after Thanksgiving when we’re off work and have “nothing planned”. lol You just have to start your stategy early, I say. IF stuff really comes out of the attic, I’m usually happy with whatever gets put up that weekend, because it might be all that gets put up. The colors really cheer me up–wonder why the joy of Christmas is also mixed up with sadness? It is for many of us, but you just can’t beat the excitement of your kids or grandkids ripping into those packages. And, maybe the best part is that families take the time from their hectic schedules to visit with each other–probably have longer conversations than they get in all year. Hope it’s a great season for everyone!

Since when do you have to pay for kids under 2??? I did as much traveling as I could before Bailey turned 2 because it was free for him, he just had to sit in my lap.
