Hello everyone! I am a contributor in this neat little place that was started by my mother in-law. She asked if I’d like to write and I said sure, but will anyone really want to read what I have to say? Surprisingly, you do! Thank you for taking time out of your day to read what I and others here have to say. Your thoughts and comments are all appreciated.
Now, I suppose you’d like to know a little about me. I am married to Joy’s second son, Toby, and we have two children. My daughter, Trinity, is 8 years old and in 3rd grade. My son, Chris, is 4 years old and in preschool. I always wanted more than 2 children, but that is not how it’s worked out. Now that Chris is 4 I’m not really wanting to revisit the baby years again! We live in the country and I am so happy that we do! Toby moved out of the city when he was in 10th grade and moved in down the road from me. They lived there for almost a year before I’d met him. I have to say, I didn’t like him at first!!! That’s a post in itself! A few months later we started dating and ended up high school sweethearts. I really never thought that would happen to me, but life never goes the way you plan. In May is our 8 year wedding anniversary, but we’ve been together for 12.5 years. Yeah, it seems like we’ve been married forever!
I am a surgical tech at a rural community hospital and I love my job! Sure, the big city hospitals are great, but bigger is not always better! I’ve had a couple of jobs before this career. The most memorable was working in a credit department (on the phones) for a catalogue company. Wow, people will always amaze you!
I don’t write much and like to have a good story to share when I do write. Reading what everyone else has to say is a lot of fun and I know my mum does a lot to keep this blog up to snuff for all of you! Thanks for stopping by.

I know you don’t like writing about yourself. I can almost pin point exactly what you said and how you felt when you found out you had to do this too!! LOL
I feel like I’ve known you my whole life. Almost half of it now anyway! It’s funny we were just talking about the first time we met. I’m gonna have Joy put that picture of you in those cute overalls on here!!! Haha!!!!!
I love when you write, you’re so smart. You are level headed and you bring me down when I need to be brought down a notch. I love your honesty and confidence!!
You were there to witness Bailey’s birth (among the many others) and I witnessed the birth of your 1st born. We’ve seen more of one another than any should!! LMAO That will bond us forever! Lylas~Nik
Well, that’s no lie that we’ve seen a lot of each other!!! We have known each other a long time and have been through a lot. I love your quirkiness and ability to not really care what others think. I wish I could be more like that! Thanks for inviting me to be involved in some of the most important moments of your life. I’ll never forget them!
Nikki, I forgot to mention that our “Jacker-Spaniel” dog’s name is Bailey! haha She is full of energy.
Sue, you and I have a lot in common. I’ve had… I think TEN surgeries. I see an orthopedic specialist on the 26th to see about removing the bone spurs from my ankle joint. So maybe it will be eleven!
Being in the profession you are in you should never be at a loss for post material.
So what does Toby do for a living?
Country living is great isn’t it!
Mssc54~ country living is great! I’m really glad Toby decided he never wanted to go back to the cities. I love the fact that my neighbors aren’t close enough to hear my kids screaming;) Now now, I’m just kidding!
Toby is the shipping and receiving department at Buffalo Veneer and Plywood. It’s the family business that his grandpa started in 1954 I believe. (Joy will correct me if I’m wrong!) He likes his job although he finds it hard to work with family all day every day sometimes.
As far as my job, I do have lots of stories, but as you know privacy laws prevent me from really telling them:( Good luck on the 26th with your appointment! I am much happier being the one NOT on the table!
C’mon Sue don’t use the ole privacy thing here.
Just don’t use names or dates and you’re okay.
“Patient Jones had to come back into the OR today. Dr. Johnson left a sponge in him/her.”
“The anesthesiologist looked like he/she had been dipping into their stash before surgery today.”
“Dang it, we amputated the wrong foot today. The guy/gal came in for a galbladder operation.”
Okay Sue, I am going in for out-patient surgery on Feb 5 @ 2:30.
Surgeon is going to remove bone spurs from the top of my ankle joint. Minimum two weeks off my feet.
I don’t mind if you tell somebody.
I think I will ask for two of those funny little black boot thingies so my foot wear will match.
Mssc54~ I don’t have to tell anyone! You just did! Those boot thingies are not cheap so if you don’t mind paying a little extra I’m sure they’ll give you 2! I am VERY PROUD to say we have NEVER left anything in anyone and have not done surgery on the wrong body part! No, I’m not kidding!
Last week on my recheck for the ankle surgery they gave me one of those $300 hard plastic boots with “air bags” all around.
I got so bored today I baked two loafs of banana nut bread.
I think tomorrow I’ll bake Hawian banana bread.
I am so ready to get back on my feet!!!!!
I hope your having a Wonderful time in Hawaii Sue. I’m thinking of that warm Hawaiian ocean, the gentle breeze, and the good food. What did I forget? Oh the hot sun. I hope your soaking it all up. How fun.
