You’re driving your car late at night and come to a red light. If there are no cars in either direction, would you stop?

Yep.
Partly because, why not?
And partly because, there is ALWAYS a cop around when I make the slightest error, especially at night when there are no other cars on the road.
And partly because my first car accident happened because I “looked” and didn’t see anyone coming, but CRASH! That was like a week after I got my license, but still . . . .
If it was a red ”light,” yes, I would stop. Yes, I know I’m such a geek! If it were stop sign, no, I wouldn’t.
I’m so with SKL..LOL There is always a cop hiding when i make the slightest error..
I would stop too. If it’s that late and there are no other cars the light usually changes right away.
Absolutely, I’d stop. I even stop for uncontrolled intersections, especially after having been hit by a car at one.
Absolutely!! You might not see them but they may be there!! Why take the chance? Take an extra 30 seconds to stop, it could save your life.
I would stop to just because I got a ticket for doing the same thing. How stupid did I feel trying to explain that to a cop.
That’s hilarious Eric 🙂
I have done that so many times when I was younger!! Coming home from somewhere late at night, and no one is around except me, then just go through the light. But now, I would not risk it because of bills (don’t want a ticket) and caring a lot more about being responsible then I did back then! It’s amazing how much you change from a teenager to an adult. The things I did I don’t think about doing anymore!!
That reminds me Eric of the time we were at the red light one night in Fridley contemplating making a U-y right there. When it turned green, I did the illegal U-turn since it looked as like no one was around. But of coarse, a cop pulls me over and gives me a talking to for the 100th time! Embarrassing.
If I was in a town or city then yes, of course I would but if it was a stop sign in my town, probably not because there isn’t anyone for 5 miles in any direction that I wouldn’t see. If there were a cop hiding there, well….there wouldn’t be since the nearest police station is 17 miles away. If there was, I’d take the ticket but I wouldn’t hit anyone or be hit because I’d see them. I live it “flatsville!”
I would like to add that there are 3 buildings in my town. Post office, hardware store (kind of!) and old town hall. There isn’t a stop light any closer to me that the town with the police station.
No. I would turn my lights off to see if I see any other headlights, then go faster. Not much of a family man huh. And yes I have been caught more then I will ever admit. I fight the law and very seldom win. I’ll grow up more someday
I would stop. I’m too paranoid.
Yes because if I have any kind of luck, it’s bad!
Yes I would stop.Anytime i break the rules of the road,I get caught and get a high ticket.I am older and hopefully wiser,no tickets in 2years.Yippee
For sure, yes I would stop, it could safe your life, and a ticket.
Yes, I always stop. I take that time to breathe and rest. Funny, I signal too even if no one is behind me. Better safe than sorry.
