Wow. That is a broad question. So many answers.
For me, today, love is the sound of laughter.
Love to me is acceptance, no matter what you are or what you do. Love is feeling like you can’t imagine your life without that person. Love is physical, emotional and spiritual. Love can hurt we all now this, but without hurt would we appreciate it as much? Probably not. Some people use the word loosely and others hold it in for only the ones who really matter. Hearing those words, ” I love you”, mean a lot to me in particular because I didn’t hear it growing up. To this day I’ll tell my grandma I love her and it’s as if she doesn’t know what to say back. Most of my family is like that, not mean just distant and not affectionate. My mom says it now but I usually have to say it first. She’s so different with her grandkids though and I don’t get that. Everyone needs to hear those words once in awhile, it just makes you feel good.
“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.”
Taking the garbage out when it’s full without my asking works for me too!!
Well said Joy:) Love the garbage comment too… so true!
Love comes in the shape of 4.. Its name is Taylor, Cole, Jewel, & Wyatt.. They drive me insane literally but I love them no matter what.. I’d rather be insane than with out them..
I have a tag for you at my blog 🙂
Love means complete loyalty to the other person. NEVER doing or saying anything behind their back that would hurt them.
To love is to lose a bit of oneself. When one is in love, he/she gives out a lot but receive little.
Love is never having to say your sorry.
Being able to admit defeat
Even when you won’t admit it, out loud to the right people
Love is being able to be yourself
Even when you yourself can be an ass at times
helping my child and then knowing when to stand back and watch him succeed
Love is not the exciting rollercoaster of emotions that most people think of. Its a quiet peaceful feeling of satisfaction, friendship and belonging. Love is about feeling that you cannot replace this person in your life with another for any reason.
I’m no expert, but I feel when you love someone you never fail to support them no matter what they are going through. If it’s between them and your job, them and your mom, especially them and your ego – you stand up and take care of that person first. If they’ve had a car accident or gotten fired after you’ve told them 100 times to be more careful, your first reaction is to lend a hand and a shoulder to cry on. (Then you kick their butt the next day!)
Love is to give or to receive; never is love sacrificing/regretting or taking- it is whole heartedly giving and pure and divine
IT’S A BOY!!!!!!!!
OMG Tessa a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!! I bet Eric is beside himself.
Jason your not a Ass, I love you!!
Love is a gift that is given to us. Its not having to say sorry, its patiennce, and be greatful. Its not about having jealously in the relationship, its also about trust and and being respected. I say i love you to my kids daily, I do not hear it often enough from my man, and I do not give the three letters words back, however he knows I do, and we need to start saying it daily, I say it daliy to my sister, and i need to say it more to my parents. Love is the butterflies you feel when you kiss.
So it’s the last day of school and Bailey brought all his stuff home and as I was going through it and found his journal. He must have been asked what he thought love was because this was is entry and I wanted to share it with you all because it is the cutest thing ever. These are his words: Love is when I help someone keep up with the others. Help my Mom at dinner. Love is when I help my Mom clean at the house she works at. Love is when I share my toys. Love is when I help others with their homework. Love is when I invite my friends over to my house.
So there you have it the definition of Love from a 2nd grader, doesn’t get much better than that!!
That’s so sweet Nikki. For me love is calmness and just being able to be me. It’s also an early Sunday morning when my hubby tells me to sleep in and he’ll do the chores 🙂
Snuggling in bed with my little boy on a rainy morning reading a book and falling back to sleep.
