    OK, let’s see if I can remember . . . .

If I have a brief opportunity, I sit alone in the backyard and just let nature fill up my senses and clear my mind of the stressful stuff.

If I am chained to my computer, I take a break and bum around on the internet for a while.

If I have an extended period of time alone, I turn on some music, sit in my easy chair next to an open window, and read an old classic, or if I’m exhausted, I just lie down and go to sleep.

When I travel, I bring a book and relax on the plane/in the airport with some coffee – I refuse to “work” in transit unless it’s an emergency.

I find a long drive relaxing too – assuming I’m not late to my destination.

Right now I am listening to a guided meditation CD with my eyes open hmmm otherwise for me it has a lot to do with music and now breathing (someone will be soooo proud).

    Are you in one piece?

Hmm let’s see. Beer, playing video games, Beer, watching movies, Beer, listening to classic rock”like The Doors, Pink Floyd, The rolling stones, Led Zeppelin, and Beer. Oh yeah and leaving work as fast as I can!

I go running. I get to be all by myself and think about nothing for that short time. I feel refreshed and a little calmer when I come back!

I take bubble baths, light candles, listen to love songs… Sometimes I just sit and watch the lake, water is very relaxing for me.

  7. Candi says:

Relax, what is that? With 3 children and attending college for medical, I dont remember what that word means. However when I do get 5 minutes to myself, and yes its usually only 5 minutes, I take a bubble bath, with my candles. Go on to the computer, although lately the computer has been more intense for me, so I havent really done that. Go for a walk. Listen to music.

There is nothing to me like a day to myself with a good book, the shades drawn, a blanket around me and quiet. NO TV. I almost had that yesterday and I really needed it but the phone kept ringing so I just went upstairs where I hear nothing but all my fans going.

  14. Jane says:

Joy, I love fans too. I go sit in my hot tub and read. I also love to read. I haven’t been able to be in the hot tub this summer with the baby coming but hopefully she will be here sometime next week and it will be life back to normal. Getting tired of it now and want to lay on my stomach.

In the evenings after a really stressful day, I enjoy a hot bubble bath. It is like my escape and I always think as I am soaking in the tub that all my stress is releasing. Lately I’ve been finding that watching nature videos at http://www.relaxwithnature.com helps me relax at work.
