I am always attracted to the gold rush days. When we were addicted to watching the show “Deadwood” I would be jonesing to live there, despite the obvious roughness of the life. I guess American pioneer days, as well. Just something about striking out on one’s own, living outside civilization, the “Wild West.” Gotta love it.
I would say the early 1900’s. I have always been fascinated by the stories of how my grandparents came to America during that time period.
The 80’s!!!! I was born in 1980 so I was young in the 80’s. I wish I was teen back then. My sister was 10 years older than me and I can remember seeing her in her Michael Jackson t~shirts and singing Cindy Lauper songs with her. I wanted to be her age so bad!! You look back at the clothes and out of all the decades those clothes were the weirdest!! But so cool then. And the music!!!! 80’s music is the best!!!! Paula Abdul, NKOTB, Foreigner, Culture Club, Billy Joel, U2. I think I’m gonna put my rockin 80’S CD on now!!!
I think I’d pick the Little House On The Prairie time. I think morals and family closeness was best at that time and I love a small town feel.
I always though I’d like to go back to the turn of the century, but now I’d pick the time I did grow up in.
I don’t know, I like the idea of the “simple life” of the “olden days,” but they had to do so much work to get anything done . . . fine when you’re young, but when you’ve got arthritis and such, I don’t know if it would be so fun. I used to like the Little House days too when I was younger. I so wanted to be Farmer Boy.
If I could go way back, I think I’d pick the days before Eve ate that apple . . . .
I’d love to be a flapper in the roaring 20’s 🙂
I guess like most little boys I would have liked to lived when being a cow boy meant riding your horse all day and sleeping with your head on your saddle at night.
But then I thought… hey, wait a minute! There wasn’t any air conditioning back then.
So since I was born in 1954 I think I’ve pretty much nailed the perfect time and eras.
God bless the era of air conditioning!
I’m cool with the time period I actually grew up in.
I always liked the Little House time period too but I have to agree with mssc54, where would we be without a/c?? I am so spoiled.
