New kids on the block
I think it was Bryan Adams, unless you count the Cleveland Orchestra.
First international band was RATM, local was Just Jinger – was lucky a friend of mine knew the lead singer so got very memorable seats lol
AC/DC at the Cow Palace (San Francisco)
The first concert I ever attended was 1968-69 in Seattle, Washington. I was about 14 and went to the Eagles Auditorium to see Chicago, Poco, and Taj Mahal. We indian-style on a hard wood floor with psychedelic light show over the stage and I believe there may have been weed involved… Gotta love the ’60s, man . . .

George Straight. I think I was like 14 or so. It was kind of boring though, he just stands there and sings. I like him and love his voice but he’s just not the best entertainer.
Sonny and Cher and the old Met (Mpls)
the beach boys, then Lover boy and Quiet Riot. Quite the contrast, huh.
Loved your post on Doug’s blog!
You are not silly for loving your cat. They are sometmes easier/nicer than people!
Donny and Marie with special guest Tanya Tucker at the Houston Rodeo back in the 70’s I think I was 5 years old. I actually got to ride on a merry-go-round with Tanya Tucker they taped it all and then they were supposed to play it on the Muppet’s Show but I don’t think it ever aired.
My first real concert was The Monkee’s with Weird Al.
You saw Sonny and Cher Joy?? WOW!! That would have been awesome. Aerosmith is so far my favorite concert. Toby Keith front row was pretty cool too. I could have touched him!!!
If I could have touched Toby Keith, I would have gotten arrested!! LOL!!!
LOL!!!! It was so intimidating!! He’s such a big man and oh so gorgeous!!
I’m not listening to you “la-la-la-la”
George Strait..
joy the lalalala, reminds me of connect the dots lalala on peewee hermans big adventure. lol
LMAO!!
John Michael Montgomery
I was so born in the wrong decade and country! *green with jealousy*
Who is this Keith bloke?
Oh Sanity, how quickly you forget!! It’s TOBY Keith who you told me one day was having a beer with you!!! LMAO!!! Refresh your memory here https://joyerickson.wordpress.com/2008/08/23/happy-ever-after/#comments
I saw Gerry and the Pacemakers, a British group probably in 1964 or 1965. That was my first concert. My favorite was The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Boz Scaggs probably in the mid 70’s.
Dan Fogelberg in 1981, Honolulu, Hawaii. I could hardly see him because I was so far away!
I don’t know how I missed this question the other day, but my first concert was Garth Brooks and it was pretty good!
JOHNNY CASH and KENNY ROGERS,both in that order and in the same year in Wpg.,Mb.
