Joy, I suck. Truly. I don’t have a creative bone in my body! Its one of the things that makes me sad in my life.

Every year my family makes christmas ornaments. That is about as crafty as I get.

I ordered a camera though… for my birthday. It is on backorder. But I plan on learning photography. Maybe Ill be able to do that. I do have a good eye.

Oh.. and I am good at interior design. Thats about the extent.

I decorate cakes.. once in a while. Mainly for birthdays within my family.. but I make for others sometimes too. http://familjen.grubblare.com/funnycakes.asp
I used to paint bread baskets when I was younger..
and when I have time for it I like knitting, sewing etc. too. It’s just that I don’t have much time for those things any longer. I guess the inspiration will come back later when the kids get older.

I used to. It has been such a long time since I felt creative in that way, and I often wonder why. Maybe my job is too opposed to my creative side, or maybe it’s just a season in my life. I’d love to get it back.

Before we packed up half our house in anticipation of a move that has yet to materialize, I did lots of crafts. I love to make my own cards (I’m sure I need to buy new ink), and paint little wooden things. I still crochet (can’t knit), and I cross-stitch. I can embroider and do needlepoint, but it’s been a while.

I own two sewing machines (one mine, one belonged to my husband’s grandmother), but I can barely sew. I used to know how, but I was never very good. One day, one day.

I also cannot draw, or paint pictures, or make sculptures. Not my thing – although it’s something my daughter adores.

We do a lot of hand painting and coloring. We play with stickers and stamps a lot. I have a great wall of art from the best little artists:) During Holidays we make a lot of different cool things.

I have tried several things over the years! I can’t do squat! My family has a lot of talent in it. One aunt is a great artist, another makes dolls, another can make just about anything my mom used to sew and do embroidry.
Me nothing! I think it skipped my generation. I can sew a button onto a shirt and I can color in between the lines! 🙂

I scrapbook, but I don’t think I’m very good at it. That’s it. I’m not creative at all!

  9. Joy says:

Sue, you are to good at scrap booking! I don’t know why your so hard on yourself. Your Dells book turned out great!

I scrapbook too but more so in the winter. For some reason, I don’t like it in the summer. Maybe because I go outside more often. Scrapping takes so much time and I hate to leave it laying. I love to knit but since Maddie arrived, I haven’t done any. I know she would chase my yarn but I need to get back on it. I’m out of dish cloths and other people are needing more too.

  10. nikki says:

You can put me on that list of people wanting new dish cloths:)

  11. Joy says:

LOL Nikki, okay, your there. I miss knitting. I’ll start one tomorrow and then I’ll be addicted to that!!!

  12. Jane says:

I knit and crochet. Mostly in the winter. They get so long. Now that I have this new Internet, I may spend more time online this winter.
