SKL, you would love this. He’s basically saying how he’d fix gun control would be by giving everyone a gun. I just had to crack up at this one.

Archie is right, as usual!!
This is why I love him. He was such a big liberal in real life, as were all those behind the show. But the character was done so well, the conservatives loved him – and still do! I just love seeing him shut up his bigmouth, holier-than-thou, unemployed son-in-law with his simple zingers that totally ring true. Decades later, you have to admit the crotchety old jerk was usually spot on.
I have an acquaintance (friend’s cousin) who is an extreme leftist like Michael – maybe worse. It pains me to be in her presence, with the way she goes off against the US all the time. (She’s not from this country and I think she ought to go back where she came from, not get paid “capitalist” dollars for teaching young university students about the glory of Marxism.) She needs to spend a few years living with Archie Bunker. If that doesn’t shut her up, at least it might chase her away!
Archie was funniest with MeatHead… although I hated the way he interacted with his wife

Edith Bunker is the consumate wife who can ALLWAYS see her knight in shining armor. lol
The mind of Archie Bunker should be preserved for scientists to study. The man has an uncanny ability to cut right to the quick of things with grade school logic. 🙂
I love Archie Bunker. Can you imagine if they put a show on tv like that now!
