I always squeeze from the bottom and it actually irks me when its done haphazardly – one of those virgo traits? I don’t know just makes more sense to do it logically.

I squeeze from the middle until the tube is about half-gone, and then I do one roll to squish the paste to the top of the tube, and squeeze from there. I use a SonicCare toothbrush, and my toothpaste lasts forever anyway (since you use so little). I never really thought about it before now.

I too squeeze from the middle until it’s half gone then I’ll roll it up to get it to the top.

I squeeze and squeeze and squeeze.

However, this post reminds me that when I was a child we used to have this metal “key” that fit over the bottom of the tube and you could turn the key as the tube emptied and it would extrude every little dab of tooth paste trying to remain in the tube.

Man I could use one of those!!

  6. Just a Mom says:

I squeeze from the bottom and roll the tube as I go. My husband is a middle of the tube squeezer and it drove me so crazy that we now have our own seperate toothpaste tubes!

I remember the metal toothpaste keys! They were great!

  7. Joy says:

I remember those keys too. Didn’t they used to come on the tube of toothpaste?? You can buy plastic things now that go on the end but they aren’t like the keys were.

This is ONE thing that my husband doesn’t drive me nuts with. We’re both pretty much the same with toothpaste. We kind of flatten the tube out as we go so it’s always flat where it’s empty. I also have a SonicCare toothbrush and you don’t use as much. I love that toothbrush by the way.

Does anyone else have to get every last drop out of the tube??? Like it’s some kind of an Olympic sport??

  8. Laura (LS) says:

I used to be a “flattener”, when I was using colgate, because the tubes are plastic.

Now I’m a “roller”, because I’m using Tom’s of Maine, and the tubes are metal.

Incidentally, that’s why those keys don’t work now, because the tubes are plastic, and not conducive to rolling up.

Now that you guys mention it… I’m going to have to call my folks. They save EVERYTHING. I’ll bet they have toothpaste key laying around!!!

  9. kweenmama says:

I squeeze from the bottom and roll as I go. Since we have double sinks in our bathroom Hub and I each have our own tube of toothpast, which is good because he’s a middle squeezer and that would drive me nuts!

  10. kwoneshe2 says:

I squeeze, until it get low, then I roll.

  11. SKL says:

I squeeze and then roll when it is close to empty. I think it is actually more efficient that way, but reasonable minds could differ.

  12. Sue says:

We are both squeezers and maybe rollers if we’re really desperate at the end!
