Hey, Joy, you can call me Emily, or Ilana. If you want :).
I guess I haven’t seen Bud commercials before. It’s not a beer company that’s served here – I know of it only by reputation.
I love the Budweiser clydesdales and I hadn’t seen this one. It’s funny!
Emily, the clydesdales are a well-known symbol of Budweiser here. They travel the country and are seen at events like state fairs, and there are always commercials with them during the Super Bowl (American football) and sometimes other sports events like the Kentucky Derby.
One of my favorites is one where a young clydesdale is out in the field and hears the team coming along the road. He runs to the fence and watches them in awe, hoping for the day he’ll get to be one of them. One of the horses turns and winks at him. That one always made me tear up a little. Sounds funny, I know, but a friend of mine with horses reacted the same way to it.
I worry every year that Budweiser is going to decide that these commercials are too hokey or ‘old school’, and retire the horses. That, to me, would be a very sad day.
Christmas season doesn’t start until I see that commercial with them rigging up the team, and taking them out through the snow.
And the ads with the horses playing football? Priceless.
That’s cute!!!
That’s hilarious! What does it have to do with beer though?!
That’s just what Bud does slightlyignorant.
