I am crazy for making sure the doors are locked! I do this all day long! I hate to think someone will come in a door when I am in the shower, or something! Some of my friends do not ever lock their doors! I would go crazy if I did that! I hate when someone leaves the garage door open. Someone can wonder in from the street! I know, I’m crazy, what can I say?
Tickets – if I am going anywhere – plane, train, movie, theatre!!
Like Doraz, I check to make sure doors are locked.
I double check a lot of things, especially when I’m leaving the house. Make sure everything is unplugged or turned off, no plastic bags on the floor that my animals could hurt themselves with, you know normal things!
I always double/triple/quadruple check on my kids before I go to sleep. I have no idea why, I just do.
blow dryer, curling iron, coffee pot, candles, blow dryer, curling iron, coffee pot, candles, blow dryer, curling iron, coffee pot, candles, blow dryer, curling iron, coffee pot, candles, blow dryer, curling iron, coffee pot, candles, blow dryer, curling iron, coffee pot, candles, blow dryer curling irons, coffee pot, candles!
Good thing I don’t have to worry about cigarettes now. Not with the new “fire safe” ones they have!!!
I have also gone back home after checking these things THIS MANY TIMES!!!
I am always checking to make sure my headlights are on when they should be on, or off when they should be off. It is such a compulsion that it is now automatic. When I’m driving someone else’s car where that particular button actually starts the windshield washer instead of turning off the headlights, I drive around with a really clean windshield. Sometimes I forget and check to make sure the lights are on when they should be off. Then everyone else on the road thinks I’m trying to signal them about something. I know, it’s weird.
I don’t think so. Hold on a sec… let me check.
That I’ve put my debit card back in my bag, that I’ve put my bag back in the car… things that involve making sure I haven’t left anything anywhere before I leave a public place. When we were driving across the country to move out here I was 9 months pregnant, which is my excuse for why this particular obsession was especially bad. At every pit stop someone in the car inevitably needed something from a bag in the trunk, and before we took off I HAD to open the trunk again and make sure ALL the bags had been put back. After one stop I forgot to check and my husband actually had to pull off the freeway so I could get out and check. I was reeeeeeeeally obsessed.
Joy…you make me LMAO!
The standard joke in our house is my husband announcing that he has shut off and unplugged the coffee pot. He’s obsessive about this and can’t seem to remember whether he’s done it or not when he’s left the house. If he announces it to someone (usually me), then he knows it’s done.
My big thing is to make sure everything is properly back in my purse after I’ve taken something out.
No, but I could use it every now and then!
Bad day to ask such a question… ended up checking every lid on everything that found its way into my hands to make sure it was sealed… one time that I didn’t it landed on floor … what’s so scary about me huh that it had to run away and get out of my “tight” grasp… I thought I was kinda sweet looking hmph!
I check doors, irons (when I remember how to use one), stoves, ovens… hmm pretty much most things tbh
i double check everything. I’m ocd about it. I even go as far as calling my MIL and getting her to go over to my house and make sure I unplugged the heater or turned off the stove and stuff like that! I’ve done it a ton of times..
Great to see you Tosha!!!! We’ve missed you!
It IS great to see you Tosha.
when we leave for any amount of time it’s torture for everybody…
lights ?
stove?
all faucets?
fridge and freezer doors totally shut (have been known even for a night to duck tape the doors) I just know elves are coming in for a snack 😦
doors locked? (and this includes coming home and checking the van doors until I’ve almost worn out the little locker thing)
this is all part of my OCD..just call me monkunkee!
I can be a little OCD on this one when I’m at work leaving I will sometimes check all the doors three times. When leaving the house not so much no curling irons, blow dryers,no cofee. Hey Joy do you unplug the toaster? LOL.
Very funny Darryl!! My toaster is ONLY plugged in for the minute it’s being used. And that is never me using it.
