Joy, I have to say my answer to this would be more like, I “justify” it first! Do I really need this or do I just want it! If I decide to buy it, I always charge it and then worry about it when I get the bill!!! I do not go beyond my means, so I am usually A-OK! *)*

  2. SKL says:

    1) I am so cheap, there isn’t much I buy that costs more than my bi-weekly disposable income.

    2) I find cash to be very inconvenient, so I always use plastic when I can. But I pay the bills off in full every month.

As for the big stuff – I borrowed for my education, house, and car, but I paid the education and house loans off early. I saved for my girls’ adoption-related fees. I’ve saved for their education / my retirement – now here’s hoping the value of the dollar holds up.

  3. nikki says:

CHARGE?? NO WAAAAAAAY!!!! Charge cards and us don’t get along so we stay away from each other. The only piece of plastic we have is our debit card. If we don’t have the money we don’t buy it.

  4. Just a Mom says:

I am much like SKL. We charge everything but we pay it off in full at the end of the month. We have paid off all our cars early and we are working on the house right now. Hopefully in 10 years it will be paid in full.

  5. Gary says:

My wife and I “save for it”. Long before my wife and I even met, we both found out just how much trouble you can get into with credit (the hard way). The credit rebuilding process is very long and a very difficult road to travel. When we got married, we vowed to only have one credit card and to only use it in an emergency or when cash can’t be used like on the internet for example.

So far so good with our vow! 🙂

  6. starlaschat says:

Save for it, I don’t like credit cards and the trouble they can sometimes bring . Yes indeed save for it. Also the interest rates yuck.

  7. javajunkee says:

you forgot steal it and/or take your bff’s hand me downs 🙂

  8. We have changed our habits over the years; we do charge, but pay off quickly. We are less impulsive and use more cash than we ever have. Our goal is to be more cash solvent in the next six months; we made the same goal last year and are a lot better off.
