I buy those big cases of single variety flavored jello cups for the kids. They kinda remind me of hospital food and I hate hospital food! Really the only jello I like is red (strawberry, raspberry, cherry ect.) but only mixed with whip cream!!
I’m with Nikki…red colors only! I have so many boxes in my cupboard but I rarely make them.
Same here, I prefer red. I have only made Jello once in like 20 years. I gave it to my kids and discovered it stains everything. I made it because they were sick and my mom always gave us warm liquid jello when we were sick. I’m not really sure why it’s used that way. Anyone know?
My sister introduced me to jello cake, where you make holes in a white cake and pour jello over it, then frost it with whipped cream. It’s kinda cool for a summer treat.
I like Jello mixed with whipped cream too. My mom always made (and still makes on holidays) jello with fruit gelled in – peaches in orange, “fruit cocktail” in red, pears in green. I enjoy all of them if someone else makes them, but I myself won’t do it. I was turned off by reading the nutritional information once.
I used to like the rum flavored jello! But now I stick to the old fashioned flavors like strawberry or peach flavored. 🙂
I don’t really care for jello. I’m with the rest of you that “can” eat it mixed with whipped cream but even then, I just don’t enjoy it. I like orange with mandarin oranges in it. I hated that stuff with jello and rice. Who thinks this stuff up?? Eeewwww…
SKL, I used to give my boys jello water too when they were sick. If I remember correctly, it was to keep them hydrated. We didn’t have all those flavored “waters” or Pedialite (sp) or whatever they are back then. I’m not sure if it worked or not but people told me to do that and I did.
I don’t really like jello so I don’t have a favorite. I don’t think I have had any jello in 30 years. 😀
I dont like jello much. The red colored ones with whip cream maybe. My dad loved jello with his meal. But he’d put it on his plate of warm food, and it slowly melted.I couln’t watch him eat.Thats one of my memories of jello. The second being, every year i have a colonoscopy(I spelt that wrong),so 2 days before I am on a clear diet.So I do eat it then, but only once a year.
The kind that someone else is eating!
Yuck.
My vote goes out with all of you who said you do not eat jello/ I only eat it when I am not feeling well, like they do at the hospitals! Ha Ha Ha
strawberry with mandarin oranges in it …or bananas.
