New Cook County Correctional Center, Chicago , Illinois
( I guess if I ever break the law, I’d better do it in Illinois !
Homeless people should have it so good!)
Once again the taxpayer gets stung.
It also shows that in most cases the quality of life for prisoners has improved considerably from what you might expect.
And I always thought prison was for punishment.!!!!!

Homeless people should have it so good is RIGHT!! This is ridiculous! It looks more like a freakin resort than a prison!

How is sending someone here really a “punishment”??

  2. nikki says:

And this is why long time servers end up going back, it’s much better in there than it is in the “real world.” This makes me sick to my stomach. I’d be happy if the homeless had it half as good as they do. It’s just wrong, plain and simple!

  3. SKL says:

    Don’t even get me started . . . .

  4. shane says:

This is exactly what I was talking about on Nikki’s post. This is sick, I wanna room there. Who wants to go to Chicago and rob a bank with me LOL. Isn’t Chicago Obama’s old stomping ground hmmmmmmm weird.

  5. javajunkee says:

is that shatterproof glass? What is to keep them from busting out a window?

nikki..I’ve even heard habitial offenders admit they go back because they have it better in the prisons.
    It’s craziness.

  6. JavaQueen says:

SHUT UP! Are you serious? Only in Illinois. Rod Blago probably set it up so nice just in case he ever ended up there- and whoop! He’ll be there soon enough. Unless he gets a good lawyer and gets off. That’ll be what happens 😦

  7. Sue says:

I got this from my girlfriend who is a cop and doesn’t believe in criminals getting off easy so for her to send me this, she must have been mad! I was mad too when I saw it. Come on!!!! If you commited a crime bad enough to get you thrown in jail then you’d better be sitting someplace that is cold, damp, dark and you get your pitiful meal served to you through a little window. Oh, wait. We want to “reabilitate” these people!

  8. tessa says:

I think we should rehabilitate and help these people change their lives around. But this much money is not needed to be spent! They do not need all of this. I don’t think they need to be in a horrible place either-I don’t believe in an eye for an eye.

  9. kweenmama says:

It is sad that criminals have better living conditions (in Illinois) than many hard working honest folks. And on our dollar, too! This is outrageous!

  10. Morocco says:

    Wow, its beautiful!

  11. San says:

Question is what kind of criminal gets such amazing digs, surely not the blue collar but white… the ones that steal millions from the poor… sad

  12. SKL says:

San, not really, the white collar prisons are nicer.

    • SKL says:

But I wouldn’t say the white-collar criminals steal from the poor; the poor don’t have anything the non-poor would want to steal. Mostly they steal from other rich people. But yeah, why should any of them get nice living quarters and country club amenities on my taxpayer dime? Let’s bring back the chain gang!!

Funny, I was reading some website not long ago, and some brilliant egghead was saying that our country is so backward because we haven’t abolished slavery, meaning we make prisoners work (e.g., cook the daily meal they will eat) without paying them a union wage. Sigh.

Alcatraz needs to be reopened. I wonder who thought this was a good idea. Where is Joe Arpaio?
