  7. San says:

Both, one of my all time favourite places to stay is on the coast of Cape Town, there is a mountain that goes towards the sea so you get the best of both worlds AND its hard to get to 🙂

  8. javajunkee says:

I’ll take the beach house please…when do I leave?

  9. SKL says:

I would like a hideout in the mountains, but probably will never have one.

  10. Joy says:

I’m in the mountains also. I love them and would hope for a river or creek as I love the water as well.

  11. Sue says:

A beach house. I love the ocean sounds! As long as it’s somewhere that I will not be hit with a hurricane!

  12. Just a Mom says:

Beach House! I could sit and listen to the waves for hours on end and somedays I jump in the car and do just that very thing!

Mountain hideaway. I get to go to one in June. Well as close to a mountain hideaway as I will get! My oldest sister lives in the mountains of northern California, my vacation doesn’t really start until I get there. There’s this beautiful path that leads down to a small creek. I cannot wait and I will take lots of pictures!! 🙂
I do love the sound of water but I don’t swim in lakes or rivers. I do LOVE to hike and nature watch so I’d be the happiest little lady on earth if I lived in a mountain hideaway. My sister is moving and just for me she is putting it off one month so I can bring Bailey up there. How wonderful of a sister do I have?

HOW TIMELY! Since we live less than thirty minutes from the Atlantic Ocean…

On April 3rd me, the Mrs. our two youngest kids (and maybe more of the kids, not sure yet) are going to Lake Lure, NC for an entire week.

I have a very good friend who has one of those mega vacation rental homes on the mountain side (shore) of the lake. I think the place sleeps twelve (in beds). Counting the lower deck/dock it’s three levels and each bedroom has it’s own private balcony that overlooks the lake. The game room has a fooseball table, pool table, air hockey table and gas fire place. The lower deck has a “fire pit”, hot tub, gas grill (BBQ) pontoon boat in the boat house and canoe.

We’ve also invited the Mrs.’s mom. Her husband died 14 months ago and she doesn’t do a whole lot on her own. We have also invited a (younger) couple to join us as well.

HERE’S THE BEST PART. This time of year the palace on the lake rents out for $2,850.00 per week. However, my good friend asked me several weeks ago if I would consider going up and cleaning the carpets for him. He said I didn’t have to and wheather I did or not he wanted us to go up and enjoy his place at NO CHARGE!!

So I’m going with mountain. 🙂

My parents have a mountain cabin. I love it there. But I also love the beach. Can I be selfish and say both???

  16. Depends on the day. I love both!!!
