Fame, Not much Ive been in the News paper. Once on the cover I almost forgot about that I was cross country skiing. So lets see that probably worth 1 minute maybe 2 and in the newspaper coming in second place for a contest that’s another 1 minute. Looks like I have a few minutes left.LOL

I had my picture in our local paper when I was in the 3rd grade. Me and my friend were dressed up as clowns for Halloween. It was great they managed to spell my last name wrong.

  4. Joy says:

Either I haven’t had mine yet or I napped through it.

  5. Doraz says:

I was on “The Family Feud” as head of the family!

I have a few actually. The porn movie I produced and starred in sold three copies which was pretty cool and then I was in the paper for stealing that car and taking the police on a little “chase” until the car ran out of gas.

My favorite would have to be when I was in the 7th grade. I was a pitcher for my baseball team and pitched a perfect game in front of all my family and friends. NO HITS, NO WALKS! 27 batters and 27 outs. I set a school record and tournament record for that one and still hold it today.

The first two didn’t really happen people. 😉 Those are just dreams I guess. LOL

Really Gary? The first two were the ones I thought were the real ones!!!

That is awesome to pitch a game like that. Gotta a pic of that?? It would be a good pic of the day.

Hmmm yea no Hollywood hot shots calling me!! I had a chance with a modeling company when I was 16. I did a cat walk in front of a LOT of people. If you know me that’s waaaay out of the ordinary for me NOW. My sister ruined that for me on purpose but that’s okay, I forgive her! I wonder how my life would have gone???? CRAZY!

  8. Doraz says:

Yes, I have it on tape….and YES, we won!!! Not big, though! 😦

  9. mssc54 says:

Honestly… it was the most painful experience I’ve ever gone through. :((

  10. kweenmama says:

I haven’t had 15 minutes of fame yet…and that is perfectly fine with me!

  11. javajunkee says:

yeah mine is yet to come I guess. I’m hoping it involves lots of money

  12. DM says:

I was on the TV twice last fall for my “walkabout” and a 20 minute interview of me was played oodles of times on the local access channel this Winter .whoop-e-doo..I never saw it 🙂

  13. Sue says:

No fame here. At least not yet.

So far, my 15 minutes of fame revolved around a little 7 year old girl dying in a plane crash. She was going to be the youngest child to fly cross country. Her instructor made a fatal error in judgement.

I was on the Today Show. I was on just about every news show in the world. It happened 13 years ago this month. The press lied and crucified her mom, blaming her and calling her a terrible parent. She was actually a wonderful parent who possibly made a mistake. The mom was a customer who came in my store every day with her 3 children for a couple of years. We became friends. When the Associated Press called the local paper they were given my name and about an hour later all hell broke loose. Every news reporter within a couple of hundred miles showed up at my store. The police had to come and direct traffic. Jane Pauley and Montel Williams wanted me on their shows. The only one I would do was a short interview on the Today show.

It was a very sad day.

I’m not sure if this counts, but I won a firmwide award for volunteering, and I had to go to the international partners’ meeting and walk out on the stage and be on the big screens. There were several others in the same boat and it wasn’t up close and personal. But I did get a free trip for 2 to Disney out of the deal. I’ve had tiny blurbs in newspapers and uninteresting publications, but I wouldn’t call that fame.

I tried to stay in the background away from it every time it happened to me.
