“HUTCHINSON, Minn. — A Hutchinson man may be charged with drunken driving after apparently driving his lawnmower to a convenience store to buy gas and more alcohol. Authorities say witnesses say the 42-year-old appeared intoxicated when he bought beer Thursday at a Super America store. Witnesses also report the man stopped at one point, and urinated on the side of the road and tossed away an empty beer. After getting the report, police located the lawnmower in a nearby trailer park. While talking with neighbors, the man told police he was the one they were looking for. Is that not one of the funniest things you’ve read in awhile?! Where do these people come from? What on Earth possesses them to get drunk enough to think they can ride a lawnmower to the gas station to buy more booze?! Why not just walk? OMG I kind of laughed about it, but really it’s sad!
What’s scarier is that the town this took place in is where I work! I’ve gotten gas at the Super America where this yahoo went! The gas station is on a major highway that runs through town! Did this guy want to get arrested?! The more I think about it the funnier it seems to me only because no one got hurt from this bozo. It would be funny to see some drunk riding down the street on a lawnmower and pull up to a convenience store, but then the funniness would turn into WTF is this guy doing? I know you can get a DWI for anything here and that includes walking, but I can’t believe someone was dumb enough to do it! I mean, I can’t believe this is for real!

I went to a baby birthday party a while back. There were at least a dozen kids there under the age of 4. Some idiot decides he just has to get on his ATV and drive it through the place where the people were celebrating. Can’t wait until the party is over! He ran over a 1-year-old’s leg. Thankfully the damage wasn’t serious, but what the hell? Where’s Darwin when we need him??

In the last year, we’ve had TWO hunters shot by their dogs, and one man robbed at gunpoint, in the middle of the town square close to midnight… FOR HIS CLOTHES. He was left standing, naked, in the middle of the road. No one was hurt, and the clothes were never recovered.
What a dumb ass. It just goes to prove a drunk will do just about anything. I can’t imagine him navigating that highway on a lawn mower though!! Good grief!!!

BTW if the guy gets a decent attorney I think the law will be hard pressed to convict him of driving while intoxicated. His attorney will depose all the witness and shread them. Then the coppers will have to admit that it was “X” amount of time before they actually located the individual and after all during that time he was sitting in his lawn chair on the back porch consuming mass quantities of adult beverages… in the privacy of his own property.
Let me know how this turns out. I say the guy gets off completyely. Was his back to the witnesses when he was aledgedly urinateing? Maybe he was just adjusting his clothing.
