I would first give the THIEF the chance to return it or pay for it. I have ZERO TOLLERANCE for a thief.
More likely I’d tell the thief to put it back. If that didn’t work, I’d probably tell the manager. After all, if I knowingly allow stealing during my shift, I’m an accomplice.
I would walk right up to the thief and ask them what they think they are doing. That I saw them, and if they didnt put it back,I would then talk to the owners.
Been there done it! I was a master at catching people stealing from restaurants and I always turned them in to the owners.
IF HE IS STEALING SOMEBODYS HEART WHAT CAN I DO.
Yes I would, I wouldn’t even bother giving that person a chance to put it back or pay for it. Why? Because more than likely they will do it again. Humility will make them stop, you hope anyway!
Thou shall not steal/
🙂
I’m really bad at confrontations and I usually have to play it around in my head for a long time before I am able to do it so this would be really hard for me. I’d probably clear my throat or something so that person knows I saw and hopefully they would put it back. If not, yes, I’d go to the manager because theft is a big part of why prices are higher for the rest of us honest people.
I guess I am going to have to confront them first before I go tell. That’s the way I roll. Saw you do it…put it back or I am going to the boss. Unless it’s something really good then I’ll say… if you grab one or two for me too I won’t tell anybody 😉 KIDDING!
When working in the office, does it count if you take highlighters, pens, and pencils, oh- and paper? Paperclips, staples…..post it notes, white out?
But, if it were a store and someone was actually taking merchandise, oh- yeah, I’d grab ‘um by the ear and drag their ass over to the owner.
Again, if we are referring to office supplies then I plead the fifth!
