The ones from us we usually do Christmas morning along with the Santa presents, but this year I may change that! We’re all going to be home Christmas Eve so I’m thinking we can get a jump start on taking things out of boxes and cleaning up before Santa arrives along with Grandma and Grandpa presents!
Christmas morning at my house. Then Christmas afternoon at my parents’ house.
We used to do just “us” on Christmas Eve. It was the only time we had alone. Now we don’t really have “rules.” We do it when the kids are here.

We used to do it christmas morning, i really didnt like that..its hard to be excited at 6AM (i thought) plus back then i had everyone coming to my place for xmas dinner so i had a lot of things to prep and clean up..some years back we decided to start opening our gifts xmas eve night..i like this so much better, i think everyone does..it was much more exciting and less stressful..xmas day then was presents from Santa, grandma and grandpa.
Well things have changed over the last couple years. We used to be at Jasons parents Xmas Eve so we used to do open our presents at home Xmas morning along with Santas gifts. Now we go to his parents Xmas day so we open ours at home Xmas Eve and then Santa gifts are for the morning of Xmas day. You have to split it up some!
The kids get 1 gift each Christmas Eve and the rest get opened Christmas day when santa brings them.
We open gifts on Christmas Eve with my wife’s parents and sister and our immediate family opens our gifts on Christmas morning.

I let the kids open one gift on christmas eve.. its ALWAYS clothes. you’d htink they’d get that by now.. Then that night when we get home from all the running they get to sometmes open one more.. the rest they have to wait till christmas day..
