Question of the day

It came down today. Kinda wish I would have left it up, but it’s nice to have my house back!
My husband of almost a year (Valentines Day!!) is a minister. I have been in church every sunday for as long as I can rememebr, but seeing it from this side of the fish bowl is another story. Officially the tree is supposed to stay up through the 12 days of Christmas. My first marriage was to a person with OCD…tree was up day after thanksgiving and down by noon on Christmas day. Growing up the tree went up the day after Thanksgiving but it had birthday decorations on it until after Dec 7th (my birthday) then it was decorated for Christmas, then New Years, then Valentines day, the St. Patricks day so the tree came down some time in March.
I have always waited till Jan 1st or 2nd.I leave the lights up and use them to celebrate the New Year 🙂
Most times id say one or two days after..i like having that open space back.
I wanted it down today but I couldnt find the energy but it WILL come done the moment I find it!!!When cmas is over..thats it,I want my house back to normal.
Day after Xmas always. I like having my space back. I take down everything but the snowmen I have, I keep those out all winter!
Never.
If we didn’t have an artificial tree, it might come down after January 6 (Orthodox Christmas).
Usually a couple of days after christmas. As long as it’s down by new years.
I don’t do much of anything with the tree except load it in the truck, make a new cut in the trunk and put it in the stand. Then after all the stuff finds it’s way off the tree I take it out in the back yard and creamate it.
I like mine down by today. I like my birthday to be with no Christmas stuff up. I also like my house back like everyone else. I go from Halloween decorations to Thanksgiving to Christmas and all my roosters want their spots back in the kitchen. I do kind of feel bad for my cats. They’ve enjoyed sleeping under the tree.
I don’t put mine up until closer to Christmas… about two weeks before. So I don’t mind that it stays up a little longer. It’ll stay up until after New Year’s Day, and then it’ll come down.
Unlike Joy, I like the Christmas stuff up for my birthday.
