If you could live anywhere in the country, what region would it be (Pacific NW, Mountain, Northwoods, NorthEast, etc), and why?

I would stay right where I am. North-woods. Minnesota. I love the changing seasons.
If I had to move, I would move to the Southwest. Arizona, New Mexico or Southern California. I like the heat out there and I would escape the cold weather which I REALLY dislike. ๐
I have no idea yet. Have been visiting Missouri and Nevada and live in California. I love it here. Maybe, when I see more of this beautiful country, I can make a better choice.
I am quite happy living in Utah. Like Joy, I love the changing seasons. And the mountains here are so beautiful! Now, if I could VACATION anywhere in the U.S. I would go somewhere warm mid-winter just to get a break from the cold (Hawaii, Florida, or Southern Cal).
Although I love Montana…. Minnesota has more to offer. There’s nothing I don’t like about this state. The seasons, the people, quality of life…..so much better here than a lot of places I’ve lived. ๐ So I’ll stay in the North-woods too! ๐
I’d like to join you ladies in the Northwoods, although I’d pick a little further north, believe it or not. I grew up vacationing around the Hayward, WI area (about 30m south of Duluth, MN), and I absolutely love it there.
The forests! the lakes! And the SNOW instead of ICE that we get here in Iowa! (although I’m sure the second I move there, we’ll be hit by an ice storm like no other)
And the slightly cooler summers. Gotta say, I am not a fan of the multiple 100 degree days that hit, even here in Iowa. I’m a winter girl through and through.
Although I certainly wouldn’t turn down plenty of vacation time in a tropical locale.
Mountain!! Would love to live in colorado… you can have both hot and cold there and its so gorgeous!!
I would stay right here in Texas! I have live on the east coast in Connecticut and New Hampshire but I don’t do winter! I love the east coast but just to visit not to live!
I am in the Pacific NW Washington and I do love it here, but I am from Minnesota and love it there too (minus the long snowy winters). In the NW here, we have it all and I love that. Mountains, snow, lakes, ocean, in the summer it is in the 70’s-to cool for some, but I love it. You can go inland and get the hot weather. We plan to move back to Minnesota-North Woods-one day!! No place like home.
I don’t know, maybe a little south of here. I do like the seasons, but 6 months of winter wears on a person – especially the older I get. (However, my extended family and my house would have to move with me . . . .)
Same here, I wish our families could move with us! We always joke about that. My mom would move out here, but everyone else is good with the snow and ice. ๐
