Question of the day

I really like just about every kind of music. I don’t really care much for rap, hip hop or blues. Anything else, I’m open to.
ours is also varied, but if push come to shove then U2 gets my vote hands down, followed by Allison Kraus. I don’t much care for the same ones you mentioned. g-nite!
I love Alison Kraus!
I am a music lover, but there are some things that have been called “music” that I don’t get and don’t like. Like most rap, jazz, and heavy metal.
I like classical instrumentals, joyful hymns and patriotic songs, some broadway, light rock, some country, most classic rock, some new age instrumentals, traditional ethnic/international music, and probably a bunch of stuff that isn’t coming to mind.
I just can’t stand heavy metal. I forgot that. The kind where it’s just screaming. HATE IT!!!!!!! I got in the shower one day and my radio was on that channel and I didn’t know. IT was a LONG 20 minutes.
20 mins in the shower??
You must have missed this.
https://joyerickson.wordpress.com/2009/09/02/how-long-do-you-shower-2/
Yes, guilty as charged. I’m in there a while. How long do you soak in your nice new tub?
I like almost everything. Except for opera music, and I’m not a huge country fan but I like some country.
Oh Opera…Seems I’ve forgotten that too. If I can’t understand it, I don’t really like listening to it and a lot of that seems like screaming too.
Heavy metal, and that beng beng music, I really dislike. Furthermore, I like so many styles, but good soul music/Motown, makes me always want to dance.
Eclectic, I suppose. Anything from old school rock and roll to heavy metal to musical to classical pieces to electronic music or soulful singer/songwriters. I like having eclectic taste because it means that I feel open to new kinds of music.
I like a wide range of music. I usually follow pop music. From the big band era right up to todays stuff. I don’t do trash (heavy) metal, rap or twangy country. I grew up in the 80’s so I love that music. I was really into Duran Duran growing up.
I like a variety also, but rap is not included! There are some good songs in all types of music, but that doesn’t mean I’d tune my radio to some of those stations ๐
Like everyone else, I like a wide range, from Beethoven to Bon Jovi. I do have a hierarchy, more or less, though…
This is the group that’s more likely to get my vote, before most other things:
Country
Irish Traditional, anything from small groups to the High Kings
“contemporary” Classical – stuff like John Williams, who isn’t considered to be a “classical composer” because he does soundtracks, but jeez, having played both? I’d put his stuff up against some of Beethoven’s or Mozart’s any day.
And I do have some in the Absolutely Not, No Freakin’ Way Is That Crap Being Played In My House:
Most Rap
Death Metal
“cutting edge” or free-form jazz. I’m extremely picky about that category called jazz.
Taylor Swift (although she may move off this list if she learns to write lyrics about something other than teenage angst)
You know what? I can’t figure out the Taylor Swift thing either. I mean, I think she’s “okay” but I don’t see what whole phenomenon about her is.
I listen to a variety of music, but also do not care for country, rap, metal, or jazz. Lately Ive been listening to a lot of “alternative” music.
I like most everything. No heavy metal or hard rock. I like pop most. I like 80;s, country, old rock…I also like some underground music too. Anything with a good beat and I have to understand what they’re saying!
I like old school rap…Snoop Dog, Easy E, Ying Yang Twins. I do like rap but not hard rap that you can’t understand. I love Eminem, DMX, TI. Lil Wayne is my favorite rapper.
Eric and I love them too, but listen to them little now cuz of Ben. But Eminem has gone downhill, didn’t like his new one. Still have love for old Eminem though. Pray he isn’t as crazy as he sounds! lol ๐
Really? I loved the new songs on his last CD. As long as he’s not killing, raping, hurting anyone in any way I will continue to support him. He’s a musical genius in my book. He’s been through a lot with losing a close friend to violence and all of life’s tribulations but I still love him. He’s on my top 3!
I still love him too, and we both think his lyrics are genius too. If ever Eric and I are alone in the car again, we love to analyze his lyrics and sing along! It is a favorite past time-just love his passion. We always get hyped up listening!!
I love”COUNTRY” ๐
I like others too,not heavy metal,not opera,not rap ๐ฆ
Love everything except heavy metal and new pop/rap songs that are just about sex, drugs, and killing and people who cannot sing at all, I hate that! But I just really love country-Christian-soul music-classical-love enya and old school hip hop/pop like Mariah Carey, Aguilera, Whitney Houston.
I’ll be the odd ball.. ๐ I live for alternative & Heavy metal & Rock.. I enjoy some rap. I like soft rock from the 70s and early 80s. I enjoy the blues and jazz.. I only enjoy OLD country music.. I couldn’t tell you who any of the new “players” are in that genre…
To quote Old Dirty Bastard “I’m a little bit country, I’m a little bit rock n’ roll, a little bit soul to soul…” I like it all, from Prince to Bob Marley to Bach to Shania Twain to JZ to Brazialian Girls-I like lots of genres.
