Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with unlimited reading material OR a single knife?

Hm. On one hand, it would be nice to get away and just meditate. On the other hand, I might get so bored, I’d use that knife in a way different from what was intended! So I would probably choose the books. I could probably figure out some way to make up for the lack of a knife. There would probably be a book about that, right?
I’d choose the books….
Is the reading material up to date news stuff and gossip magazines and stuff like that? The knife would come in handy for food so…that’s a tough one!
Well IDK what I’d do with a knife. It’s not like I’d kill an animal or build anything. Well I may build something but that’s highly unlikely! So I’ll go with books! 🙂 Keep my mind sharp and hopefully keep me from going insane…which I already feel I am sometimes!
hmmmm….. “unlimited reading material”. how is this “unlimited material” arriving at the island? A leprechaun? And does food come with that delivery?
Ok, I’d also figure that somewhere in that “unlimited” stack would be a book on survival, which would teach me how to use the native flora/fauna to create the materials that I would need – such as making a knife out of a stone or a bone.
So, unless I can capture the leprechaun, I’d choose the books, because they would give me the information that I would need, whereas I could spend a week spinning my wheels using the knife incorrectly.
Man, I really overthink this crap.
How about a hot cabana boy?…Okay, then books!! Would give me hope of being rescued 🙂
Books.
I didn’t realize that I didn’t answer this. Books for me too. I figure I could make a knife out of something else like a shell or a rock. You can sharpen almost anything with a rock.
Well of course I am going with the knife. It’s a lot easier to open a coconut with a knife. Imagine what size book you would need to kill something to eat.
hmm…I’m thinking the books would be good only for fire and wishing my day away…I can find something else for fire…
The practical person in me has to go with knife. I’m artsy…I could carve and whittle my life away after I killed and cooked me some dinner. 😉
Also, maybe the reflective nature of the knife would allow me to get the attention of a boat…probably a better idea to smoke signal…
Ooh! and a knife would allow me to cut off a coconut and carve eyes into it so I had a friend!! (Tom Hanks style!)
