It’s really hard for me to name a favorite song. I can narrow it down but I love so many songs.
American Pie is right up there. It came out during a very difficult time in my life and it takes me right back to that time but now I find it very comforting and I still know every single word.
I also really love Whitney Houston’s Didn’t we almost have it all.
I don’t really try to get them out of my head when they come. I just sing them over and over and do a little dance and get on with it.
One favorite . . . I think it might be either “How Can I Tell You” or “Morning has Broken” by Cat Stevens. Well, anyway, they are the first two that come to mind.
As for getting the song unstuck, I don’t think I’ve ever had that problem with my favorites. Usually that happens with stupid songs. They eventually go away, like the hiccups.
When I wrote the first question, I’m sure I had a favorite song in mind. Now, I have so many going through my head, it’s hard to choose.
There are songs from my childhood, mostly Disney movies, “Once Upon a Dream” (Sleeping Beauty), and “Colors of the Wind” (Pocahontas, although that was after I was grown up and married).
John Denver songs: “Rocky Mountain High,” “Grandma’s Feather Bead,” “Sing Australia,” “Thank God, I’m a Country Boy.” Oh, there are soooo many of his. There’s a man who died too young.
I’m into Irish/Celtic music, to. I don’t know what I was thinking when I asked this one. It’s TOO HARD!!! sorry.
I don’t have an all time favorite song, there are just too many I like! As far as trying to get something out of my head…I think I just try and forget about it!
no particular favorite. I really like Dixie Chicks, Daughtry and Bon jovi, though
i don’t try to get those out of my head. Normally the ones that get stuck are the kids songs (especially themes from shows)…for that, I just sing it until it goes away.
Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynard is my ALL time favorite. I have many songs that I LOVE though, and take me back to a certain point in my life. Free Bird means a LOT to me, came to me at a very important time in my life. When I hear it now, I feel free from where I was, and free to go where I want in life.
I have tons of favorite songs but if I had to pick just one it would be Billy Joel’s A Matter of Trust. My second would have to be Paul McCartney Pipes of Peace.

My all time favorite is: Jimmy Helmes, “Gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse”. We had that song on our wedding 🙂
I actually meant this to be two separate questions. I should probably be more clear.
For the second… by “THAT song”, I meant an annoying song or jingle that just shows up there and will NOT go away. So…
What technique do you use to get that annoying song/jingle out of your head?

I don’t think I really have a favorite song… I like way too much music.
When I try to get a song unstuck I listen to music I really like thats catchy….that will hopefully replace the catchy, crappy music! 🙂
