How long can you keep grocery items?

This is very interesting and very informative!

How long can that bottle of ketchup stay in your fridge before it goes bad?   I’m thinking 5 or 10 years but if you want an expert opinion, go to the web site below.  This site lists all kind of foods and how to keep them fresh longer as well as when to get rid of them.  If you have a question click on the particular picture, and a whole list of stuff appears………….WHAT A GREAT SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still tasty

Yesterday I was in the kitchen going to make Lindsay a ham and cheese sandwich (mayonase only please). Porter comes in and says, “Let’s have a sandwich show down.”

So he gets his bread, ham and cheese but then goes back into the crisper to see what other ingrediants he could use to make his sandwich better than mine.

He pulls out a bag of unopened pepperoni and asked me to open it. So I opened it for him and then decided I had better give it the ol sniff test. P-eeew! I looked at the date and it was JUN 09!

But in our defense the Mrs. usually buys more than one bag at a time and puts them in the freezer. I guess this one had been out of the freezer too long. lol
