I won a big orange bear at the fair when I was about 13. Does that count?

I can’t really remember any “contests” I’ve competed in seriously. I used to win the prize every time there was a contest in Jr. High English class. Maybe I won some other stuff like that, but nothing that would get my name in the paper or a trophy or anything.

Oh yeah, when I was in 2nd grade, I won a prize for having “sold” the most boxes of Christmas cards. I totally cheated; most of the list was bogus. One wonders why nobody figured that out, considering that I’d just turned 7; or was I really smart enough to fake it convincingly? I was given 2 shopping bags full of Christmas cards to deliver and collect on, but instead panicked and left them on miscellaneous people’s porches. My poor mother had to sort it all out. Sorry, Mom!

I win stuff all the time. So much so that it doesn’t leave an impression and I can’t remember. Raffels, door prizes and stuff like that but I’m still waiting on the lottery.

When I was in 4-H I used to show horses. So I won lots of ribbons through out the years. Even won a trophy and was able to show at the state fair show. So that was pretty exciting when I was younger.

  4. Sue says:

I wouldn’t have thought about 4-H, but since Jenny brought it up, I did well in the projects I took. I went to the state fair every year but one for indoor gardening and went a few times with photography. (Back when you used a real camera!) Other than that, I don’t usually win contests or raffles.

  5. I’ve won only a handful of things. I’m no big winner like some people I know who pretty much fall ass backwards into winning things lol.

  6. Joy says:

I won $50 on a raffle ticket from Sue’s church a few years ago. The only other thing I’ve won stuff in is bowling. I’m almost wondering though if it’s the same kind of “winning” if you earn it rather than win the lottery. You know? In 4-H you guys earned those ribbons. Is that the same kind of “winning?” That could be another QOD. Is earning a “prize” the same as “winning?”

  7. Karen Joy says:

I bought raffle tickets from a care home and won a case of motor oil and I didnt even own a car at the time!Thats about it I think.

  8. Ellen says:

I think I win now 🙂 I won in 2001 100.000 Guildens in the Dutch State lottery, about 60.000 Dollars! I was shocked. Never ever had that emotion before. (had never won that much money).

  9. Nikki says:

I don’t enter anything to win. Jason does, and he wins all sorts of things. Gosh, I can’t think of anything 😦
