Not on purpose. I don’t think any of our clocks are the same. I don’t wear a watch unless I am running, and then the time doesn’t matter, I use the stopwatch.

Our bedroom alarm clocks are ahead, but those are it. My kitchen/living room area is a large open space and I have 4 clocks within 10 feet of each other! One clock in the living room and 3 in the kitchen – stove, microwave and the one on the wall.

No. All the clocks in this house are set the same. If they were different it would drive me crazy. I don’t want to guess what time it really is. I want to know with no guessing. I know people who add minutes and then have to sit and subtract to know what time it really is. I think that’s very silly.

HAH!! VINDICATION!!! I know people who set their clocks (ok, one person) 7 minutes ahead. Not 6, not 8, not 5 or 10… 7!! Why? Because that way he’ll always “be on time”.

      What?

Ok, so you set your watch 7 minutes ahead, but then you KNOW that it’s fast, and that you really have 17 minutes instead of 10 minutes. Why don’t you just get ready in 10 minutes and be done with it?

Personally, I don’t like to do this, but we have some clocks in our home that are “ahead” because others like it that way. If I turn it back, everyone will be late because they automatically calculate the time as being earlier than it says. It makes no sense to me, but I’m not going to waste any more time arguing. If I need to know what time it is, I go to the clocks that I know are correct (the ones on the cable box, cell phone, computer).

I do have a couple of clocks that run ahead on their own after some time passes. Like my car clock. Twice a year, I set it for the exact time. But by the next time change, it’s nearly 20 minutes fast. And I have to remember how many minutes fast it is during any given week (because you know, I’m always living on the edge . . . ).

  5. Just a Mom says:

My husband sets the clocks ahead and it drives me up the wall! My watch, the clocks in the kitchen and my alarm clock are all set on the real time! By the way I am always on time and my husband is always late!

My Mrs. does but I don’t.

  7. Nikki says:

Our alarm clock in the bedroom is…wait for it…….20 MINUTES fast! Yes, that’d be my husband! In his mind, when it goes off…he still knows he has 20 minutes before he has to get up. In my mind, I think why not just set the alarm 20 minutes earlier! IDK!

It’s the only clock that is set ahead of time. The only other clocks we have are the stove, and computer. I don’t even own a clock that isn’t digital.
