How was everyone’s week? Are you as happy as I am that it’s Friday?! I’m always happy when Friday rolls around, but I am especially happy about today! I had one goal set for my summer. To go to a TWINS game! I know we’re a bit obsessed about baseball. Maybe a bit more than your normal baseball fan. Bailey is beyond excited. We’ve had to turn down tickets twice this past summer because we’re always offered 2 tickets. We can’t go without Bailey, and I’d tackle their butts if they tried going without me. Our first time going, we wanted do that as a family. That’s important to us. We are meeting some of Bailey teammates and their parents there. Our seats aren’t by each other but we’ll walk the park, and get pictures of the boys together before hand.
Well, the sick bug has entered my house, but so far it isn’t a horrible one. And so far, Bailey is the only one that has gotten it. The head cold, sneezing, watery eyes, congested. He stayed home Wednesday and Thursday. Thankfully his dad picked up his school work for both days, he won’t get behind.
This weekend we are hitting up the pumpkin patch, and making cookies. Sunday we have our home games again, which means hosting again, and that really has been a lot of fun! We’ve met some of the most amazing people. I think we’d live at the baseball field if they’d let us! Just set up camp! LOL 🙂
So, how was your week? Any plans for this weekend. It’s suppose to be sunny but chilly here, temps no higher than 60, if that. But the sun will be on our faces, and we’ll soak up whatever warmth we can before it’s gone for the next 6-8 months! 🙂
I’m so happy you guys get to go to a game this year. Take lots of pictures. Are you doing a Circle Me Bert?
I’m not really sure what we’ll be doing. Darryl is coming out. He got new clubs and wants to use them before winter. Cold and chilly but very sunny is the forecast. I’ll probably work behind the scenes here on the blog while they golf on Sat.
I didn’t have a voice for the better part of this week and that is no fun. I couldn’t even answer the phone. It sounds like fun but it’s really not. I wasn’t sick but it didn’t feel very good.
I’m sure I’ll be back later.
Yeah, not being able to talk audibly doesn’t seem like such a problem, but . . . the last time that happened to me, I was a young manager and had to give a presentation to clients who had come all the way from Europe just for that. I assume stress was the root cause, not that that helps any! Since my boss hadn’t gotten into the nitty gritty of the project, there was nobody else who could explain it. My boss told me to simply apologize for my voice and forge ahead. Good times!
My kid got laryngitis about a year ago, on the day when the social worker held our annual post-placement home study. She kept mentioning how nicely my kids played together, no fighting, etc. I debated whether to keep reminding her that Miss A couldn’t have hollered if she wanted to.
Funny how you can be otherwise well and not able to talk.
No Circle me Bert sign this time. We are going pretty early so we can meet his friends to walk around and do pics…none of want to carry it around. 🙂
I AM STOKED THAT ITS FRIDAY!!!
That’s awesome that you guys get to attend a Twins game! How cool to see the new stadium. I’m jealous! Take lots of pictures like Sue did. Gosh the sick bug sure is going around. Hunter & I are just getting over a cold.
This Saturday we are doing a birthday lunch for Jason at our house. Just a simple lunch and some cake. Other than that nothing else we have planned. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
I’ll take a ton pf pics!!!! 🙂 I think I caught Bailey’s cold before it got too bad. 2 days down, and back to school is a record! Loaded him up on meds, OJ and kids noodle soup…..that’s what he calls Campbell’s chicken noodle soup. lol
Hmm, for me, Friday isn’t that different from other days. I have a lot to do tomorrow, and then we have dinner with the boring people, and then I have to think about being up before Nanny arrives at 8am Saturday. I like Saturday better than Friday. The nice thing about working on the weekends is that you usually don’t have a lot of back-and-forth with other people. You can work at your own pace and maybe get a little caught up on the stuff you couldn’t get to during the week due to meetings and such.
I am working on figuring out Miss A’s 4th birthday. I know what I want to get her, but the logistics are complicated. I need to buy a big art easel and that will be hard to pull off if she’s anywhere nearby, which she usually is (outside of working hours). Also my sister asked what the kid might want for her birthday, and I told her a few things I was planning to buy, so now I don’t know if I should buy them or assume someone else is buying them. The other thing is, should we go to my parents’ house that Sunday to celebrate? I hesitate to take off a Sunday because my sister works for me on that day, and she needs the money. I can’t couch it in those terms, though, so everyone will just think I am again putting work before family, which they criticize (though the funny thing is, they accept the bounty when I offer it – but that’s a different rant for a different day). I already said I would be working that day and they could come to my house if they wanted. But now I am thinking I should go to my parents’ house, which would be a lot easier for them and make everyone feel better. Also, I need to figure out how to come up with a pink cake. (No, I will not be baking.)
Although birthdays are fun, to me, the bigger day coming up is our “forever family day.” The day I took custody of the girls and they came together as sisters. This year the girls can understand it pretty well, so I would like to begin a little tradition around it. I have a bunch of books celebrating adoption, which I plan to read around that time. So I’m looking forward to that, even though I don’t have a very clear plan.
I’m happy to report that I have not been going to “those internet sites” all week. I am still on the internet but I’m spending less time. I still feel tempted to check those sites to see what they are saying about controversial news topics. But who am I kidding – I know what they are gonna say, and I’m not going to play the game any more. I got a couple “big projects” done that were due today, and now I have a few more due tomorrow, so the last thing I need is to get into an argument with liberal, judgmental bloggers. It’s unbelievable what people will say without even knowing a person. “You don’t care about your child,” “you are racist,” etc. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Tomorrow I go to get Miss E’s stitches out of her head. Here’s hoping that she will be able to swim on Saturday. Oh, did I mention how my Monday went? My car broke down and then my computer bombed. For 6 hours, I was either waiting for a tow or sitting in the car fixit place listening to sports and cooking shows. I’m happy to report that both my car and my computer were functional by mid-afternoon, but that was kinda weird, especially right after my kid’s ER visit. There was a full moon, coincidentally.
OK, time for me to sign off and sneak a nap. I haven’t had a full night’s sleep since Sunday. You all have a nice weekend!
Dinner with the boring people?! Well, that doesn’t sound like ANY fun!
She’ll love the easel, prefect age for it. Good luck hiding that from her!
My policy with gifts has always been to tell others who ask what Josh wants, but leave out what I plan to get him. Because if I say, “Oh, he wants the Lego Kingdom Castle, but I was planning on getting that for him”, it’s happened that THAT’S the thing that they go out and buy. Whether by design or accident, I’ve been ‘poached’ like that more than once. So now I make a list (or have him make a list) and weed out my stuff.
As for the easel… get it and stash it at your folk’s house.
Usually by this point, I have already bought what I really wanted to buy, and the rest is just gravy. I am behind this year. I don’t really care who buys what, because the girls are still too young to care. But I don’t want to assume someone else is going to buy something and then nobody buys it – or we both buy the same thing.
The easel is actually from someone else, so leaving it at my parents’ is not an option. But the hard part is just getting a chance to go shop for it and put it in the car and get it home. I would have to take time off work or fit it in while the kids are in Sunday School. If I do it during Sunday School, assuming I find it quick enough, I will have to fit it somewhere in the car with them in it. I wish I had gotten in gear early enough to order it on the internet and have it delivered here, like I usually do with big stuff.
Twins game that sounds like fun. I’m still getting over from being sick. I’m ready to have my health back. The week-end here is forcast for in the 80’s so we will be doing something outside. Soaking in the last bit of Summers heat. I’m a little sad to see it go but I’m greatful that this year we had a Fall Season last year we skipped right over Fall and went right into Winter the leaves didn’t even change color it was very strange. Have a great time at the game.
Have an awesome time at the game!!!Happy for you!!
Well my weekend will consist of clearing out our spare room..yikes!I havent touched that closet since we moved here 2 1/2yrs ago.My nephew from BC is moving in with us and will be working for my husband so I have alot of organizing to do.We only found this out last night. So my mind is racing as to how my life will change or rather how I can make things NOT change to much rather.I like things how they are,in their place, alittle of a perfectionist(just a little)so Im praying for patience in this new situation.
I think we’ll be off to shop in your good ol’ US of A sunday!!Yay!I love shopping down there..such a nice change from our stores!Besides all that I hope to just enjoy the beautiful weather we are having now!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Is this one of Randy’s sons? I hope it goes well having someone live with you. That’s not always easy.
Yes,Its Randys oldest-Chris.I know it wont be easy but the deciding factor for having him come here was Wes had 2 employees quit and we have lots of work.Chris has worked for Wes before,he’s a good hard worker and wanted a change. It will be till c-mas at the max.My biggest thing now is to find somewhere for all of Wes’s clothes,he uses that room just for that.We need to buy a closet kit to finish the one upstairs, where we remodeled and put Wes’ stuff up there.May be a little disorganized for awhile..not my style but Ill have to learn some patience.Chris is pretty respectful of us and has been here a week at a time on holidays and been no trouble so Im sure it’ll work out.
I will have my fingers crossed for all of you.
We don’t have too much planned this weekend thank goodness! I need to slow down and just chill! Hopefully we will get the house cleaned this weekend. Not major cleaning mind you, just regular weekly cleaning!
This past week I had to go to a school meeting for my oldest daughter about getting ready for college! Boy was that an eye opener! We have already decided that she will attend a Junior College here at home for 2 years and then we will see what lies ahead after that. But even with that we have a lot of work to do!
Have fun at the twins game! That sounds like lots of fun!
My week has been a little crazy. I’m having a hard week myself (career/job wise) and its been difficult trying to support my friends who are having relationship problems. Oh well….I’m going to try to take some time off this weekend to have fun 🙂
I’m having a hard time believing it is already fall!! It’s still in the mid 80’s here and still feels like summer! I miss having a real fall… with crisp mornings.. changing leaves… sweater days….. Oh well..I’ll just enjoy the warmth for a little while longer. Winter will eventually come here!! 🙂
Have a great Friday night!
I love fall Lucy. I think it’s my favorite time. Have a great weekend and try to relax.
Thanks Joy. So far its been a good weekend! Hope you are having a good one too!!
