  1. Jason says:

I usually put my least favorite chores on the back burner

  2. Joy says:

I tend to do what I hate to do the most, first. Otherwise I just sit and think about it and that makes it so much worse so I just do that stuff right away and then kick back and relax.

  3. Jenny says:

Well I hate doing all the chores! But they have to get done. My worst…the laundry. I have no problem putting them in the washer & dryer, but then they sit in the laundry basket cause I hate hanging them up!

    • Joy says:

I don’t hate the laundry either. I don’t mind washing, drying or hanging outside or folding. Where I get stuck is putting them away.

  4. SKL says:

If you are talking about household chores, I don’t really have any that I hate. But I tend to put off the ones that would take a long stretch of time from start to finish. I’m not good with doing a little here and a little there and having a half-finished chore on my mind. But since I’m not getting any younger or finding any more leisure time, I’m learning to break chores down so they will at least get done someday.

I have a bigger problem with focusing on my “work” when there is a “chore” staring me in the face. Chores are so much more fun, somehow.

  5. Ellen says:

It depends how my mood is. Sometimes I can carry away with dusting, although I really dislike that chore. I like to do the laundry.

  6. Shanef says:

I usually put things off until it really needs to be done. Like not cleaning out the garage for 20yrs. and then spending about 20 hrs. cleaning it.

  7. mssc54 says:

I have the ability to start one chore and leave it to start another, then leave it to start another, then work on something else that I’ve begun. They all eventually get done.

  8. Laura says:

I tend to be a ‘putter-offer’. I hate washing the floor, so I’ll keep sweeping, spot cleaning, sweeping again, picking up, closing the curtains, turning off all the lights, buying rugs, whatever, to keep from washing it. Eventually, though, I resign myself, and just do it, and it takes fifteen minutes, the place looks awesome, and I wonder why I wasted all that time avoiding, when I coulda just done the flipping thing and then gone and watched a movie with all the extra time I woulda had.

    • Karen Joy says:

Im like Laura with the floors..avoid washing them at all costs! And putting laundry away, well,I am really bad for leaving it sit where I fold it.I love throwing things in the washer and dryer but thats where the love stops!

  9. Nikki says:

I get it all done first thing in the morning. It’s not even 9am and the house is clean. But that is an every day thing. That way I don’t get backed up, unless we’re gone for a long period of time. Plus, I am a VERY clutter free person, it drives me crazy. “A place for everything, and everything in it’s place” is my motto. My husband laughs at me and calls me Monica, from Friends! LOL Laundry and dishes are always an on going thing. The one thing I slack on, and it seems I’m not alone, is putting the laundry away. I’ll be really good, get put away as soon as it comes out of the dryer, then other days it all piles up!

I just realized I have one chore that I constantly put off. Putting socks together! I have the famous sock basket, you want socks, go find a pair! I just put them all away. Jason called when I was doing it, he didn’t believe me when I said what I was doing. God, I hate socks!

  10. Just a Mom says:

I usually do the most hated thing first just because if I leave it until last I will never do it!

  11. SKL says:

I don’t understand why so many people hate putting the laundry away. Especially after it’s folded. To me, putting stuff away is the best part of any chore. Then things are nice and neat and you have accomplished something from start to finish. Besides, what’s hard about placing stuff in their places after all the rest is done? Seriously, I don’t understand.

I like to fold the stuff as it’s coming out of the dryer, and then put it right away. I don’t even have a laundry basket for clean clothes. One thing that bugs me is finding out that I’ve missed washing one of a pair of socks. I’ll feel unsettled until the next time I wash and match the two mates.

And, for myself, I buy only a couple kinds of socks, and only a few colors. Mostly I wear only the white ones. So I don’t have to put any effort into “matching” them. They all match. Call me boring, but at least I don’t have a pillowcase full of unmatched socks like my mom did. (My kids have a bit more variety, but not too much!)

    OK, off my laundry soapbox!

Hmm.. I usually put off the chores that I hate…. but sometimes that leads to not doing any at all!!
