Question of the day from SKL

I don’t watch horror or scary movies anymore. I don’t enjoy them at all but back in the 70’s plenty of movies scared me. Last House On The Left and I Know Who You Are and I Saw What You Did really scared me when I was a kid.
Blood and guys don’t scare me but sneaking up on someone and that kind of thing is what gives me the creeps.
I don’t care for scary movies so I don’t have much to go off of. I know one set of movies that I would absolutely would not watch is the Paranormal Activity movies. Just watching the previews kinda freaks me out. Especially the new one where it shows the baby laying in the crib and then all of a sudden the baby is pulled up in the air. To much for me!!!!
Horror movies don’t usually scare me. The ones I don’t like are actual ghost stories or paranormal activity. Just watching the clips of what Jason mentioned gives me the creeps! There’s no way I would ever see that one!
I have a few:
“When a stranger calls”. Very very scary.
“Final Destination” I / II / III The last one is a bit over the top.
“The Halloween movies with Jamie Lee Curtis.
“Christine” Stephen King
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 🙂
Oh Ellen, I didn’t think of Stephen King. His books scare me in a good way since I wouldn’t be seeing the movie if I hadn’t read the book but Christine was excellent as was Pet Cemetary and Cujo.
I don’t do scary movies! However, The Shining scares me as does ‘real’ ghost stories. Oh, The Blair Witch Project scared the crap out of me! We saw it in the theater with Jason and Nikki and there are scenes from that movie I’ve never forgotten b/c the creep me out! Great, now I have to go to bed thinking about that!
Rosmary’s Baby still gives me the willies! I love horror movies!
That’s a classic movie. This is a good question. It’s reminding me of movies I haven’t seen in years.
I haven’t seen a horror movie in a long time, but when I was a kid the original Halloween movie and Friday the 13th scared me.
I swear I don’t remember why I asked this question! I haven’t seen a movie (other than family DVDs) in years. I do not like “horror” films at all. I used to watch them decades ago, of course. The one that really gave me memorable creeps was “Candyman,” but that could have been because I was spending the night in a strange house. “Pet Cemetary” was pretty horrible but I don’t think it’s really scary because it’s not the sort of thing that “could happen.” My mom likes those Mary Higgins Clark ones because those theoretically “could happen.” Me, I don’t want to think about such things – maybe after my kids are a lot bigger!
I do like suspense movies. If I ever get a day just to fool around, I’d love to watch a bunch of old black-and-white suspense movies. Those can be scary if you get in the right mood.
I like Mary Higgins Clark too. She’s hard to predict and I’m usually surprised at the endings.
Blood and guts don’t get me like anticipation and the creep factor get me. I watched Paranormal Activity, that got me, and I don’t even believe in that stuff. All the Friday the 13th’s get me. The Halloween movies really get me. I hate masks, especially the Mike Meyers mask.
Oh, I hate masks too.
I’m so not into ‘scary’ or horror movies. I guess I could maybe get into the old ones (like Hitchcock), but nowadays, they just seem like they’re gore-fests. How many people can we hack up, and how many gallons of blood can we spatter? Yuk.
But some images in regular movies can absolutely creep me out. One that always comes to mind with a question like this is the big black train in the James Bond movie, “Goldeneye”. Something about that train – it was big and nasty looking – still gives me the willies.
The Birds and Psycho.
I don’t watch horror movies.. I don;t like to be scared.
