We get under 6. Usually just Trinity, Christopher, Robin and Hunter. Sometimes Keegan comes but not always. I miss having a lot of kids.

I think I’m handing out small bags of Dorito’s or chips, fruit roll up and Nerds. I also have drink boxes I’m handing out.

We get NO trick-or-treaters. But then, we live out in the country, and Josh is really the only kid around.

I do, however, buy two bags of give-away candy, just in case… M&M’s usually, and maybe a bag of Kit-Kats. you never know. There *could* be a rush of kids at my door!! And if not, I have Mom’s stash. 🙂

We live in a suburban neighborhood. Theoretically we ought to get dozens of kids, but nowadays, kids are too lazy to trudge to the top of the hill in the cold. I’m told we only had about 10 kids last year. (I was out with the girls, so I wasn’t watching.) My daughters at 2/3 were more hardy than many kids / parents, apparently. I felt like we had to at least go to the houses on the route where the kids went walking a lot. One year we cut the route short (for someone’s birthday dinner) and a lot of neighbors asked why we didn’t come to their house. It was nice to know how much the girls were noticed in the neighborhood.

What are we giving out? A mixture of candies, pretzel bags, and cheap coloring books. These are leftovers from the supply that I bought for the girls’ class party.

After Halloween the girls and I will pick out candy to give to the county children’s home. There is no way they are eating all that candy. And I don’t eat chocolate, so . . . .

What Joy said on the kids… Haven’t bought any candy yet cause I always seem to eat a whole bunch of it before hand! But it will be some sort of chocolate I’m sure

    • Jason says:

No sense in getting some kind you don’t like, that way we know none of it will go to waste. I am equally as bad when it comes to eating left over halloween candy.

  5. Just a Mom says:

We get tons of kids and I usually run out of candy every year! This year I have 3 bags of mixed chocolate bars, a bag of swedish fish, a bag of tootsie pops and a bag of skittles. I will probably run out of candy, I kid you not!

We are on the busiest corner in our neighborhood. Consequentally we get tons of trick or treaters. I usually just put an empty bowl on the porch with a note that says, “PLEASE TAKE JUST ONE!”

    • Joy says:

      Do you really??

      • starlaschat says:

Oh no I had to scroll up to see if I read that right an empty bowl! I don’t why I’m laughing. Go get some candy.

      • mssc54 says:

No not really. But years ago I did some part time call in radio commedy. “Bubba” was a country half-wit that usually missunderstood things and was hillarious (not only my opinion) when he would call in.

Anyway one Halloween Bubba called in with his Budged Halloween suggestions.

        1. Place a LARGE empty bowl on a little table next to your front door with a sign next to it reading, “PLEASE TAKE ONLY ONE!”

        2. Two days before the litle trick or treaters come feed your dog lots of greasy food scraps. The day before the little trick or treators come tie your dog to your front porch so he can creat lots of gooey treats for the kids.

        3. Go to your grocery store and pick up the fruit the produce manager just removed from the shelves.

Gosh I miss those radio days!

  7. Sue says:

We get the ones Joy said! I have purchased KitKats for this year, but I may need to buy more b/c someone opened the bag and I have been snacking 😉 What time does everyone Trick or Treat in your neighborhood?? It seems like we’re either early or late, but I like being out with everyone else!

  8. Nikki says:

We don’t get trick or treaters here. I think it’s because it’s so dark back here. We don’t even bother buying any. We’re out most of the night anyways.

  9. starlaschat says:

Shoot that reminds me I need to go to the store today. We usually only get a a couple if any trick or treaters. I bought some candy a while ago and well, shoot lets just say I need to get more candy. It was a small bag.
