YES!!! Where did you find all these old pics Sue?? This was the front of our house before the neighbors got into the act. It’s so much more fun now.
I was looking through FB I think! It’s just from last year!
As one of those in the “lighted” neighborhood, yes I do. Because my wife tells me to.
You’re a good man Jason.
HAHA Yes he is!!! Although, I still want more lights but he yells at me!! LOL
We do put some out. How many varies from year to year. Right now we have three deer and two christmas trees with mini-lights out there. Sometimes we string lights or add more on the lawn. Personally, less is more as far as I’m concerned. Darn things always fall down in a stiff wind and block the walkway, which means I have to deal with it when I’m in a hurry and it’s cold/wet outside.
Yes we do and I enjoy it. We need more though!
Yes, we do and I want more!!! 🙂
Never
I forgot to add that in my old neighborhood one of the neighbors used to decorate to the EXTREME for every holiday–in fact, we used to call it the “Holiday House.” The news even came out and did a story about them and their holiday decorating.
No. I don’t really have time (or the money) to do it.
We put up a ‘few’. LOL
No, we haven’t in a few years. I wanted to this year but never got around to. When we lived in town and in a housing development I felt more up to it. Everyone around us did, and it was fun. There is a neighborhood in St.Paul that goes ALL OUT, and we plan on taking a drive down there. http://www.lightsinthepark.org/?page_id=201
Wow Nikki, that looks awesome.
Of course all are welcome to come!!!! 🙂 It’s quite the drive for you all though.
We haven’t decorated the outside of the house since we moved here. In our other two houses, Steve always did lights on the outside. This year is the first year we have anything outside (except for the candles that I put in the upper windows in the great room that you can see from outside… but those are inside, so I don’t know if they count). We’ve got one of those blow-up things that I SWORE I’d never have. But my brother and his wife gave us a Christmas Train with a snowman that pops out of the tender. My friend and I put him up over the weekend. Steve had wanted to try putting the lights up this year, but I can’t find our old strings of outdoor lights! We have one more place to look, and if I can’t find them, I’ll hit the ‘reduced to nuthin’ rack after Christmas and stock up for next year.
We have two “Griswold Houses” in our town that Josh just LOVES to drive past. I swear, every year, they put up more! It’s fun to see, but honestly, I don’t know that I’d want their electric bills!
P.S… I love when folks get together and do “group” decorations, like that street that Nikki put up. That’s just plain cool.
Yup!I got lights on for the first time this year. Then again we’ve only been together since 2008.I never did when I was on my own so now that I have a hubby I got me some!!!I LOVE it so!!!I want more next year!
I used to put outside lights up all the time, but about 10yrs ago I installed motion detectors for the porch lights. Keep in mind, I live in a house built in the 60’s and outside outlets simply weren’t installed, so I used a screw in insert for the porch light that enabled me to plug in the outside decorations. This doesn’t work very well with motion detectors, LOL! 😀 So now I just do the inside of the windows.
