I have to go with my new laptop. It’s really the only “toy” I play with.

  2. Jenny says:

Just Dance 2 for the Wii…also played Wipeout on the Wii and that was a fun game too

  3. Nikki says:

Toy? I don’t know, the computer I suppose. Ask me after Christmas…instead of hints, I just put it out there for Jason. Hope he listened! Hints don’t seem to work.

    • Jenny says:

So what did you tell Jason that you wanted?

      • Nikki says:

An Mp3 player. 🙂 I have to run alone sometimes and I get so bored I don’t go as long as I would normally. I think music would help me. If he doesn’t get me one, I’ll buy myself one! LOL

        • Sue says:

You may end up stealing Bailey’s! I was impressed with it and I hope it’s as neat as it looks!

          • Nikki says:

LOL The only problem is he listens to more Rock than I ever would. We like some of the same music but he definitely his fathers son when it comes to music! Do you know how many songs that one holds?

            • Laura says:

Most MP3’s will allow you to make multiple playlists. So if you stole his, you could load your own playlist on there and have it in a separate folder.

            • Sue says:

I already wrapped it, but if I remember correctly it’s a 2GB one and will hold “Up to 1000 songs, hours of videos or hundreds of pictures” from what the description online says. It also has a built in FM tuner so you can listen to the radio. I wonder how good that works though!

What was I thinking about when I wrote that question? Darn, who knows?

I wish I had something fun to play with (no nasty jokes, please, LOL!). My computer is more of a pain and I’m supposed to be always working on it, so that wouldnt be it. I did buy a new CD player so that is kinda nice, but not exactly exciting. Hmm. Maybe one of my kids’ things? My car? I just can’t think of anything really fun that I play with.

One thing I really like, though, is kids’ books, especially educational books for young kids. They are more fun than a “toy” for me. I think of ways to use them in teaching and I like the very simple way they get things across. In fact, the only reason I have a clue about how cars work is because I read a kiddy book about them (maybe 2nd grade level).

  5. Sue says:

Well, let’s see…I don’t know that I have a favorite! I like the computer and I like my iPod. I wish Apple had some type of upgrade program for your iPods. I have a shuffle (which I love for running) but the nano’s look really neat and have come down in price so much that I could actually afford one! But, what would I do with the shuffle if I got a different one? Seems like a waste! Anyway, that’s my million dollar idea – iPod Upgrade and Recycle Program! You know which toy I have that I HATE? My new cell phone! It’s going to be the longest wait for an upgrade ever!

    • Jenny says:

Which phone did you get? Just so I don’t get it…lol

      • Sue says:

I have Sprint and it’s the Samsung Restore. It has a slide out keyboard which is nice for texting, but the finger rolly thingy is way too touchy and you end up scolling past what you want. It seems like the buttoms are hard to press and it takes too long for the phone to register what button you did push.

      • Joy says:

I also have Sprint and I have the Blackberry Curve and I LOVE IT.

    • Joy says:

That’s too bad you hate it. I feel bad for you. You just got it. It is a long wait. I just love my phone and I’ve been due for an upgrade for a really long time and I don’t want one.

      • Sue says:

I think that’s why Toby hasn’t found a new one either. We had the same phone and I loved that phone but texting was too hard on it. Wish I had it back! I suppose I could have it re-programmed, but I’m not sure if they’d charge me or not to do that.

Does anyone have one of those ipads or the smaller phone versions where the whole thing is a screen? I keep reading about how many great apps they have for all ages. Not that I’m thinking of buying one (I am too cheap), but just curious whether anyone has this kind of toy and what they use it for.

    • Nikki says:

A friend of mine has boughten all 3 of her kids Itouch’s for Christmas. Both her and her husband have them and love them. Their kids always steal theirs because they have so many great apps….but no way, no how am I buying one for Bailey. Holy crap are the spendy…and for a kid none the less. And 3?! Nuts, but to each their own!

    • Jenny says:

I have a friend who has an Ipad. They are super nice…and expensive!! I would love to have one!! They are quite the handy little things.

    • Laura says:

I’ve been coveting an iTouch for myself for some time. I haven’t gotten it mostly because so many areas around here don’t have free wi-fi, and I’m afraid that many of the apps require internet access to run.

A friend has an iPad with a flashcard app that her first grader absolutely loves. I read on Pioneer Woman (the homeschooling section) that the app works on iPhone, as well, so I suspect it’s for all three.

I’m hoping that Santa will bring me an iTouch and a new stereo for my truck with an mp3/pod plug in it – so I can load up the touch with a bunch of music for trips. Yeah, I know, I have a REALLY vivid imagination!!!

Toy? I guess I will have to say my laptop, though I had never really considered it a toy…

  8. Phyllis says:

My computer is what I spend the most time playing with. I don’t have any of the fancy new techo gadgets that are out there.
