Happy Friday! I didn’t have that much going on this past week, so nothing exciting to report! Baseball for Bailey is in full swing, but it never was out of swing, so that’s all the same. At least we are now talking about tryouts, and starting to see more kids come into the batting cage! That makes spring seem closer for some reason.

Saturday we are driving into a bigger city, for some shopping and lunch. Bailey needs new baseball cleats. His feet have grown 2 sizes since last summer! For Christmas I was given a gift card for Ruby Tuesdays from the family I nanny for. I’ve never been there so I’m excited for that!

What’s up with all of you? How was your week? Do you have any weekend plans?

Ruby Tuesday’s is very yummy! That’s where we went for girls night last week. Definitely get the salad bar 🙂 I’m glad tomorrow is Friday, but it’s been a good week I guess. Saturday Trin has bball and Sunday is religion and my sister’s birthday. My mom’s bday is Monday so we’re getting together Sunday afternoon to go snowshoeing and have supper. It’s suppose to be bitterly cold on Sunday though so we may just end up eating! We also start volleyball, but there are only 3 teams signed up 😦 So, we’re suppose to meet Sunday and decide what we’re going to do. Does anyone know how you go about getting a book published? I know, completely off the wall question, but I thought I’d throw it out there!

I’m not sure about publishing. Go to JW Nicklaus’s blog and ask him. He’s done one. I think it’s different now than it used to be. I think you publish now and try and sell it already published but I could be wrong.

Who wants to know???? You planning your memoirs?

    • Nikki says:

My uncle is an author, if you don’t find anything out, let me know. I can send him an email.

I love a good salad bar, thanks for that input!

We’ve had a slow week too. Nothing much has gone on or will be for us. My best girl called an hour ago and asked me to lunch so I’m going to have “school lunch pizza” tomorrow with a gaggle of 5th grade girls. She’d asked me last week too but for some reason I couldn’t or didn’t feel like it so I told her I’d go tomorrow unless it’s really snowing hard. It’s also Flavors On Friday’s. That’s when you can buy ice cream. The kids go wild for that.

Sunday I’m going to a Scentsy party at the neighbors, Sue and Jenny’s aunt so I’m looking forward to that.

Other than that, I’ve been living through all of you this week. LIVE IT UP.

I have my work party on Saturday night. We will be going to Buca Di Beppos in Maple Grove. Its an italian family style restaurant. I’m so excited! Love pasta!! yummmm Jason has a ride along tomorrow evening. From 10 pm to 6 am. He gets to ride along with the k-9 cop.

I’ve been having trouble with my wisdom teeth lately so I’m finally getting them out. In 2 weeks!! I wish it was much sooner cause they really hurt. I have a hard time chewing my food.

Is spring coming yet?? So tired of this cold!! Now its gonna get super chilly out. Excited for the scentsy party on Sunday. I love that stuff. I guess as Jason would say I’m addicted to it… hehehe

We’re heading out sledding and “camping” this weekend! It’ll be cabin camping, but we’ll still be in sleeping bags. This will be Josh’s first time, so it’ll be interesting to see how he does. I bet we’ll have a really good time. Steve’s been packing for it all day long. (it’s an overnight. Saturday to Sunday)

    Otherwise, nothin.

Well, let’s see. This week has turned out to be productive after all. At some point I just got totally sick of myself on Tuesday, and I turned a corner and have been pretty good ever since. Of course the weather cut into my efficiency, but it still felt good to be out there doing something challenging, even if it was just dragging the garbage cans through the knee-deep snow. Yesterday and today were really long days, but they were somewhat fulfilling.

My daughter did great on her vision test Wednesday. So this coming Monday will be her last therapy session, at least for a while. She will have a follow-up exam in April. I will keep working with her in the mean time, to keep shoring up the areas where she still needs to catch up. They also said that after the April exam, they will refer me to an occupational therapist to see about other therapies that might be appropriate. (Her issue is “retained primative reflexes” and vision is only one area this affects.)

I have to put together some stuff for the scrapbook page the vision therapist puts together for each kid. They want photos and such. It’s funny, my kid usually isn’t photogenic, and when she is, most of her pictures are just poses with her sister. Not very informative about her interests. So I will have to work on this.

This week was not so good for my sisters. My one sister lost several new puppies and one adult dog. The same day her dog died, my other sister rushed to the ER because of heavy bleeding (she’s pregnant). At last report, baby was OK, and mom was cleared to go back to work. Lots of praying and finger crossing going on.

Well, not much else to report. Mostly just doing our thing around here. I am hoping that we can use the toboggans on Saturday afternoon or Sunday. The girls’ swim lessons start back up on Saturday, too. Oh, and we have tickets to a Russian musical performance sponsored by my adoption agency (the founder adopted from Russia). So that should be fun. Only thing is, Scarlet Fever is going around my kids’ daycare, so I hope they stay healthy.

Oh well, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

How are the family members doing? The pregnant sister and the grieving one? Are things getting better for them, or at least stabilizing? I’ve been thinking about them today.

      • SKL says:

Well, the older sister called today to say that the fourth puppy is still alive, but she’s still having to feed it or make it feed from its mom every three hours. So she won’t be coming out on Sunday.

The other sister hasn’t been in contact with me today, and no news is usually good news. The freaky part of her story is that when she went to the ER, they just assumed she was miscarrying. Finally after a long time, they did an ultrasound and found that the baby was just fine. That would freak me out. Then they said she couldn’t go back to work until she got her doctor’s OK, and she was like, I can’t just sit home alone and think about what can go wrong! But she only had to stay home for 1 day.

I had a good week–it went by fast. We also have a three day weekend that I am looking forward to! No major plans for the weekend other than tackling the boxes piled up in the garage.

Hopefully I will be able to go bowling.

  7. SKL says:

Oh well, my kids are home sick today. So much for weekend plans. We have a doc appt tomorrow, instead of the swimming lesson. Hopefully I will still get enough work done and the kids will be back to normal by Monday.

Actually only one kid is “that sick,” but the other one wanted very badly to stay home. I figured it wouldn’t make that much difference. Now Miss A is sitting by me doing some writing, and I am noticing how interactively she works, LOL. I planned to do one major project today, but I was informed this morning that I now have 2 projects due today, and now I have kids underfoot. Should be interesting. And I suspect I’m catching the bug too . . . .

    • Laura says:

Goodness!! You guys all need to cocoon for a while! Snuggle on the couch with a bunch of movies, a box of kleenex, and a vat of chicken soup! Hope everyone is back on their feet soon.

      • SKL says:

Miss E has done nothing today but sleep, watch movies, and eat. Thank goodness she is able to eat good food. This afternoon she got a bloody nose, as if she wasn’t already feeling bad enough. Tomorrow’s doc appt can’t come soon enough.

As for me, I am working off and on, but nowhere near where I should be on the work that was due today. Technically it’s still “today,” but I don’t know . . . . I don’t think anyone is going to look at it until Monday or Tuesday anyway, but I would like to get it done, because I have a bunch of other work I’m supposed to do this weekend . . . somehow . . . .
