T.G.I.F.

I, for one am happy to see this week come and GO! Bailey was home sick Monday with a horrible stomach-ache, felt well enough to go back to school Tuesday, and was sick again Wednesday. I have no idea what that was but I am so glad it’s gone, and so far no one else got it! Now Jason has a nasty cold, so I’m sure we’ll be doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend. I am putting together a big pot of chicken noodle soup for today. We have some movies to watch, and of course Sunday the big game is on! I have decided that I am going to cheer for the Packers. For one reason really, I want to see Aaron Rogers win it. I like him, and have a lot of respect for him.

How was your week? I’m hoping it was better than ours. Any plans for the weekend?

Oh, I feel like I’m just coming OFF the weekend! We’ve had two full days off after an early-out for snow, plus tomorrow is a Late Start. AND tomorrow is the last day of Josh’s school’s “Catholic Schools Week” Celebration, which means that the parents are invited for lunch, a raffle to benefit our sister parish in Haiti, and then we watch the kids put on a talent show. So, pretty much, I’ve gotten NOTHING done since noon on Tuesday. I’m kinda wishing they’d put school into session for Saturday and Sunday so I can catch up! I have a lot of work to do!!

Meanwhile, I still haven’t gotten my flippin’ slippers!!! The milk truck got through today, but FedEx couldn’t?

Well my teeth are FINALLY better. I go Saturday to take my final gauze out. I went today and Hunter was watching me while I was laying in the chair. He rubs my leg and said “Good job Mama Jen!” So cute!! My appetite has gone back to normal finally.

Saturday we’re going to Triple R for an early dinner because Mark’s (bro-in-law) b-day is on Sunday. Sunday we might be going to a friend’s house to watch the Superbowl. Really I could care less. I watch it pretty much for the commercials. And you have a reason to snack for a few hours!!

Joy, you coming over tomorrow night at Kathy & Grandma’s house? I’m sure they’ll be home this time!! Lol

  3. Sue says:

Well, usually I’d be happy it was Friday, but this is my weekend to work so I’m not so happy 😦 I will be gone from Friday morning (early) until Monday and no matter what my husband says, it’s not a vacation for me! So, to prepare for the weekend I got the house cleaned and all the laundry done so I can come home to complete chaos on Monday.

After having terrible heartburn since Monday night, I have finally started to feel better. I think it’s the Pepsi I had on Tuesday that put me over the edge so I will be avoiding that! I will watch the Superbowl and I’m going to cheer for the Packers too. I mainly like the half time show and the commercials though! Other than that, not much is new!

Jenny, how many plants will you have room for? I’m making them small. 3-4? Look at the pot size on Facebook. On that stand in my front window. I have light shades of pots that size.

    • Sue says:

      I will take plants, too!!!

    • Jenny says:

hmm I would need a stand wouldn’t I? That would be fine, I’ll just have to find a place for them. Hopefully the cat & Hunter will stay out of them. Do they flower at all? Or just green?

    • Joy says:

I can start some for you too Sue. Mine are all getting so big. They could go on anything Jenny. In a window or you could hand them from the ceiling in a window. I looked and you can see the pots in that pic on FB. I’m going to start “trimming” now and I’ll make each of you 3. Okay? None of these flower Jenny. They’re just green. But it’ll be hard for you to kill what I’m going to give you.

I’m with Laura – is it time for the weekend already? I feel like I’ve been mostly running in place this week. I worked a lot but didn’t get a whole lot done. However, it does feel good to work steadily. Healthwise, I’m feeling much closer to normal, but still a bit off. I haven’t had any time off from work this week, but we’ve skipped evening outings for the most part. It’s just too cold and nasty to want to do anything other than hunker down at home.

Today I noticed that it wasn’t quite dark when I went to get the kids around 6:20pm. So now I can feel the days getting longer, and moods will hopefully pick up too.

Went to get passport photos done today. Mine came out horrible; I’m tempted to get another set done, even though they cost like $15. Miss E kept half-closing her eyes just as they clicked the photo, so for the final one, she held her eyes open really wide (which was hilarious), and that’s the one they used. It looks like the poor child has just been violently kidnapped – perfect for the document I’ll use to prove she’s my daughter, right? But I’m not going to do hers over – it was enough trouble just to get that one. If I get up early enough, I’ll take the girls tomorrow to turn in the passport applications.

Not much else going on. I don’t have any interesting plans for this weekend. Which is kinda nice, actually. When was the last time I could say that? Back to the normal routine of work, church, and routine shopping, I hope.

    • Laura says:

I forgot to ask you when you mentioned it earlier… are you planning a trip, or are you just getting the passports to have them? I keep thinking that I should probably get a passport, “just in case”, but then I think… “just in case, what? There’s an emergency in Bora Bora that you and only YOU can solve???” (Oh, wouldn’t it be loverly?)

      • SKL says:

We don’t have a specific trip coming up, but we know we will be wanting to travel as part of our lives. We want to visit the girls’ birth country and neighboring countries, India, and wherever else we can manage to slip away to. Since it takes a long time to get documents done nowadays, we just want to have them ready.

      • Joy says:

        God you make me laugh!!!

Even though I had Monday & Tuesday off it’s been a very long week. I have been putting in 10+ hours and will be working 6 hours on Saturday. Then we will be going out to Kimball (Triple R) to have dinner with family for Mark’s Birthday! Saturday night we have a party at a friends house, and Sunday is Mark’s actual Birthday. We will be going to his Mom’s place to celebrate it. Finally we will be ending out weekend watching the Super Bowl!

  7. mssc54 says:

We have a fun weekend planned this weekend. It’s turned out to be somewhat of a CELEBRATION WEEKEND!

First of all (as some of you already know via Facebook) my Mrs. was just voted TEACHER OF THE YEAR at the highschool where she teaches! She has worked so hard. She has a MEd in math and science, is co-chair of he math department, teaches 3 different math subjects (not clases but subjects) each day AND this year her school began a night school (targeting at risk students) and she was given the task/privilage of being the night school principal! So on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays she gets to school around 6:30 am and doesn’t leave until about 8:10 pm!

Also this weekend Cadyn (our 1 year old granddaughter) and Lindsay (our 8 year old daughter) both have their birthday celebrations! How cool is it that our granddaughter and daughter were BOTH born on February 8th?!

Porter (our 6 year old son) and Lindsay have both had a good week at school so we are going to kick off the weekend by taking them to Chunky Cheese !

We are going to have a whole bunch of fun this weekend!! Hope everyone else does too!!

Hey, the best thing just happened to me. My computer blocked me from getting the little comment box on the Stir. So I can’t make a comment. I tried everything, and it seems hopeless. I hope this is permanent, because I need to lose my motivation to go to the Stir. It is too distracting! And if I can’t comment and stir the pot a little, what’s the point?

    • Joy says:

You make me laugh. Oh, by the way, guess who asked about you yesterday?? Hint, from PD and someone who you always found irritating. He said he missed you and hoped you were doing well.

    • Joy says:

      *cough*cough *Roger*

    • Joy says:

I’m friends with him on Facebook. I was so shocked when he sent me a note and he said “aren’t you friends with SKL?” I told him I was and he said he missed you and thought about you and hoped things were going well for you.” I was shocked because other than that, we never talk about much. We don’t agree on anything but I never hated the guy.

      • SKL says:

Well I don’t “hate” the guy, but his obvious agendas always bugged me. Plus I am still angry that he posted an article headlined “____ [celebrity baby] was the product of rape.” He never apologized for that and I never let him live it down. Maybe he’s an awesome guy in real life, but he was an irresponsible blogger. I did, however, thank him once for retracting/correcting a BS article.

It’s funny that he had kind words for me, though. As opposed to LL who said that all the bloggers she knows talk trash about me and feel like I stalk them – even though I’ve been more supportive than not toward her. Whatever! I try very hard to avoid her nowadays.

I totally stalk your blog though, Joy. I bet it gives you the heebie-jeebies, doesn’t it?
