Vanilla Chocolate Root Beer Floats from Paula Deen

When the only ice cream in your freezer is chocolate chip, and you are jonesing for a root beer float, what do you do? You make a Vanilla Chocolate Chip Root Beer Floats, that’s what you do! Sometimes recipes get even better when you don’t have the expected ingredients. Try a root beer float today at your house and use whatever kind of ice cream you have on hand. Chances are it is going to be a new float favorite.

Vanilla Chocolate Chip Root Beer Floats

1 pint (2 cups) vanilla chocolate chip ice cream
1 liter (about 4 cups) root beer
Whipped cream
Shaved chocolate


Fill four glasses with scoops of ice cream. Pour the root beer over the ice cream. Top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. Serve with straws and long spoons.
