T.G.I.F.

Well, it’s Friday again! I hope everyone had a good week. I’m not too sure what’s on the agenda for this weekend, but I know one thing….NO WORK, which  for me, means no kids other than my own! Unless of course you work weekends, then I’m sorry!

Today, Bailey has a special day at school. All the grandparents are coming, hopefully. He nominated himself for best screenplay. It’s called “The Academy Awards of Literature”, and he’s very excited. He chose a scene from the book, Change-Up~Mystery At The World Series. Authors come in and judge and hand out trophies and medals. He’s hoping for a trophy. His display board looks great! He’s even wearing a tie, with a baseball hat of course. 😉 So, we’re all very excited to be there for that. I’m excited, because this is out of his comfort zone. He has never been one to want the spot light on him, so this is a big deal.

What’s your weekend look like? Make it a good one!

It always shocks me to find that we’re so close to the weekend. I don’t know why, considering that I usually do the same thing every Thursday night – take my kids swimming. Maybe it’s the chaos of that experience that throws me off. There’s so much to fit into a couple of hours. Today the kids took forever to eat, then to get out of the pool, then to get dressed. I am tired and sick and sore and I really did not have the patience for it! And Miss E is on a drama kick where every time I call her on not acting as she should, she gets all sad and weepy. Finally we get home and the night still isn’t over – I have to wash the swimming stuff, etc., and then get back to my usual evening work schedule. To make a long story short, I’m tired.

Tonight my sister called me to tell me my brother was in the ER and now he’s scheduled to have his gall bladder removed on Saturday. Not sure how that’s going to figure into my weekend, but I understand it’s outpatient. I was thinking of visiting my sister so I could drop off some baby stuff that’s been in my car trunk, before I take it in for repair on Monday. Problem is, I’m sick, and the last thing I want to do is get her sick. She says, come on over. I guess I’ll see how I feel on Saturday.

I got a lot of work done this week, but it’s not over yet. Tonight I am supposed to do some stuff so it can be ready tomorrow morning. But I really just want to go to sleep right now. My sister and I were on the phone for over an hour, so there went that. We don’t talk that often, but when we do, it’s usually not a brief conversation.

Of course I will be working this weekend as usual. What I’m not sure of is whether I’ll also do the shopping, or wait until Monday. I also have a few “personal business” things that I need to accomplish. But mostly, I just want to feel better.

So I hope everyone has a pleasant and productive weekend.

Trophy or not, the REAL win is when family shows up to participate. 🙂

Good luck to Bailey! Hope you have a good weekend!
If it snows in the Bay Area on Saturday I’ll be really happy, and I’m planning to go to a Japanese restaurant for the first time with some friends after school. I’m going to try sushi! 🙂
