Margaret Thatcher? 🙂
Laura Bush. I’m reading a book about her right now. I love her!
I don’t really have a favorite. To be honest, I don’t know them all well enough to compare. I kinda like Barbara Bush – she seems to have some real personality. I know everyone loves Laura, and I like her too, but Barbara just seems more like she would kick some butt if it came to that.
Not a big fan of Nancy Reagan, really dislike Hillary, and as for Michelle, maybe she should not have said “this is the first time I’ve ever been proud of my country” and a few other choice things since 2008. Before Reagan, I just don’t know enough about the first ladies to comment on the kind of person they were. I mean yeah, Jackie Kennedy looked good in public, but that’s not really what I look for in a person.
I like Barbara for that reason too. That is one momma I would not mess with. I like Laura, because she is classy and seems so gentle and caring. She has worked a lot with kids, especially in literacy. She genuinely cares about our children, not just hers.
I liked a lot of them for a variety of reasons going back to Eleanor Roosevelt for her trying to give women more rights. I loved Jackie Kennedy for her class and her quiet way and I loved her style. She was a really good mother. I do love both Bush women. I loved Laura for what Nikki mentioned. She rolled up her sleeves and went to schools to spread the love of reading and Barbara, like what’s been mentioned, she’d kick some ass if anyone messed with her chicks. I also loved Rosalynn Carter for her quiet love of mankind.
