Pull Up A Cellphone

It seems like we’re all scattered to the winds these days, me with a bunch of projects for school and shuttling Steve and Josh places; SKL has a bunch of projects that she’s working on, in addition to shuttling HER little ones where they need to go; Joy is working with her mom; Sue is working and being a mom; Nikki is working and being a mom…Β  The list is endless.

So this week, we’re going about our business, and just pulling our cellphones out when we need them.Β  But the rules still apply, and if you break them by being mean, we will speak to you in nothing but textspeak for the rest of the day.

Yep, busy is the word! Somehow I don’t feel totally stressed out, though. Maybe because I am getting some actual work done and I cleared out some more “stuff” that I’m going to donate. And I started a really interesting Sunday School class and finished a book and started another. Or maybe it’s because my sister is an awesome cook and today she made fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and I ate a ton of it. Hmm, whatever the reason, I’ll take it.

So this week, besides “work” and our usual activities, I need to catch up on shopping, visit my sister in the hospital, take care of some personal paperwork, and maybe get those spine x-rays since I’m still not back to normal. Gather up Spanish baby books to donate via our nanny, to make room for some books I brought up from the basement. I also really need to find a dentist and make an appointment. I know I need some work done, and I’m starting to “feel” it in a couple of spots, so it really is time. I also need to make an eye appointment.

Yesterday I was complaining about how much rain we were getting – it must have rained continuously for a day and a half at least. But when I woke up this morning, everything was white. I’m just glad it’s March. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Well, I hope everyone has a pleasantly productive and healthy week coming up.

Yeah, I know what you mean about being busy but not stressed. I’ve got a to-do list a mile long, but I’m not feeling pressured about it…. yet…. Talk to me again next week, and see how I am.

I swear, this had better been the last time I shovel that stupid snow! I’m more than over it.

This weekend was a busy one. Saturday I spent a few hours over at our grandmas house cleaning and visiting, and taking her to the store. Sunday was full of baseball! Jason offered the boys that come up to the batting cage a practice to work on certain drills, and their throwing. Tryouts are the 17th and 20th. We figured a few would show up, but 14 ended up coming, which was great! That was from 2-4. We hurried home, ate supper and headed off to the last day baseball camp, till 8:30. We’re kind of glad that’s now over. We had a record attendance though, so that is always nice. More money for baseball. πŸ™‚

Today, I have about 4 loads of laundry to do, and a house to seriously clean since I neglected it all weekend. Yay!

    Happy Monday!

You took her shopping too? Thank you Nikki. I so appreciate that break. How did she seem? Thanks a LOT.

      • Nikki says:

Yea, she needed some things from Cub. I don’t mind at all. I’m here, and was going to her house anyway. She seemed better, moved a faster than before. She seemed less scared. πŸ™‚ You are very welcome, it’s the least I can do.

I’m glad it’s Monday and back to work. All those projects I had in mind????? Nothing, I repeat N-O-T-H-I-N-G, worked out as it should have. I had to take down a mirror in the bathroom to finish the wall washing project in there, and it was a total fiasco! Took it down, noticed the nails were bent so after drying the wall I replace the nails. Think this worked??? NOPE, it did not. Now the dratted nails wouldn’t catch the wall properly! Ok, not a biggie (I thought), so I got some good size screws to use instead. They seemed to grab the wall, hung the mirror…..down it came! 😦 Redid…. down it came. This went on for longer than I care to admit. In addition to this (not being one to know when to leave well enough alone), I also decided to replace the wire bacause it was getting frayed. Went to the store, bought the wire, rewired the frame, put it up and down it came cause the wire broke, causing the screws to come loose as well. Mind you, this mirror is 38″w x30″h, and weights roughly 2000 lbs. (Maybe a slight exaggeration but it definitely weighs 50-60 lb). And I’ve put it up and had it fall 6 times already. I am freaking tired, my arms hurt, my back hurts yada, yada, yada. It’s also 9:45 pm, so I throw up my hands in disgust and yell “That’s it! I’ve had enough! I’m done, I’m done, I’M DONE!!! Sit there you stupid mirror, see if I care!” (I sure told it, huh?) Good thing I live alone or someone would’ve locked me up by then. πŸ™‚ Did other smaller projects (cleaning drawers, etc) most of Sun., then went and bought 3 hangers by 3M that won’t ruin walls and heavier picture wire and started with the mirror again! Got it up, it was crooked, took it down, put it up, got it straight, but it covered the electrical outlet so only 1 side was usable. Decided I could live with that for a while and sat down to have a sandwich and read a while. 1 hour later, I kid you not, I’m sitting in the living room and BAM. The freaking mirror is only hanging by 2 holders! The other one fell down. UGGGGGGHHHH! Are you laughing at me yet? Because if I was watching this on T.V. I’d be rolling on the floor laughing! FINALLY got the third hanger up, positioned correctly, stupid mirror is hanging straight and not covering the electrical outlet. Mind you, it’s only 10 pm on Sun. night! Had enough sense to call it a day, took my book into bed and read til I fell alseep. Miracle of miracles….. the mirror is actually still hanging, still straight and seems to be content to stay on the wall. Now, if I can only remember to hold my breath when I’m in there, maybe it’ll still be up next week, next month, next year. πŸ™‚

I sure hope everyone else’s weekend was better than this! πŸ˜€

I’m simply at a loss for words. That doesn’t happen often! I dare not say a thing. This would so happen to me so I really get it. It can really only go up from here.

      • Phyllis says:

Cute (if unintentional) play on words, Joy! You’re right, it could only go up from there….. cause it just kept falling down. LOL! πŸ˜€
