T.G.I.F.

I hope everyone had a nice week. Why is it that sometimes days, weeks, go by so slow, and others so fast? It seems like for the last 2 weeks, it’s gone by so fast.

Saturday will be very busy for us, I hope it’s warm!  We have Field Clean Up Day to celebrate Earth Day, that starts at 9am. Then we have practice from 10-12. At 6pm we have a fundraiser memorial game for the high school. In 2007, one of our Varsity Baseball players was killed in a car accident. There is a silent auction, and proceeds go to the scholarship foundation in memory of him. Each year a $500 dollar scholarship is given to a deserving Buffalo High School senior baseball player. Scholarships are given to seniors who give 100% to the team. Our team will be there to support the family and the foundation. It’s always fun, and the kids learn what it means to be a part of something very important.

I am really looking forward to getting together with family on Sunday. The kids will have an easter egg hunt, and we’ll have a big ham dinner. I can’t wait to see everyone, and to see Paul and Joy’s house in person.

So, what are your plans? Whatever they are, like always, enjoy them! 🙂

Oh, one more thing! Is anyone here still watching American Idol? I’m curious to know what people think so far.

Well if you’re reading this on Friday think of me.

Our kids (ages 7 & 9 bare out for spring break. My Mrs is teaching. Since its Good Friday day care is closed. Which means our oldest daughter is dropping of our 6yr old grandson AND our 15 month old granddaughter at 7am!!

    Should be a busy day.

My mom’s family is coming from Missouri and I’m very excited 🙂 My aunts are a riot! So, tomorrow night we’re going out to dinner, Saturday is hamburgers on the grill at my mom’s and we’re celebrating my sister’s bday, and then Sunday is an Easter dinner of my uncle’s famous brisket!!!! YUM! BTW Mum, I love the header!

Sue took this picture this morning on her way home from work. It looks great. I tried doing the sides with yellow but it makes the picture lose it’s sharpness.

On Friday, we will do pretty much what we do every Friday. The kids’ daycare is open, and of course it’s a work day for me. We’ll probably go to dinner in the evening. I thought about taking the kids to church, but decided against it. We have talked about Good Friday and what happened on that day. We will probably read a bit more about it and let it go at that.

On Saturday, Nanny is off, so I will let the girls watch some movies and play/chill while I work. If the weather allows, we’ll do some outdoor stuff including planting some seeds. We will color eggs and do some shopping, maybe make some last minute alterations to their self-decorated Easter baskets. Today I bought some goodies for the baskets, which I will arrange on Saturday night so the girls can do the egg / basket hunt on Sunday morning before church. Then church and the grandparents’ house.

Things will be a bit different with Miss G in the hospital and my sister staying with her all the time. Hopefully we get to see my sister’s toddler, at least. But if not, oh well, we will just chill out. Chilling is good – and rare around here.

Hunter is so excited for Easter. He has told us that the Easter bunny is bringing him jelly beans, m&m’s & a chocolate bunny. He also has told us that the bunny is gonna actually come and pick him up and bring him over to Paul & Joy’s for the Easter egg hunt!!! I said I’m pretty sure the Easter bunny is going to be too busy filling other kid’s baskets to actually come and pick you up. Then he said that Trinity & Christopher are going to help him find the eggs. LOL Oh and did you know that the Easter bunny lives at the North Pole with Santa? According to my son they live together. Well everyone enjoy the weekend and have a good Easter!

Gee, Nikki, what’re you doing in your spare time? LOL? 🙂 I’m tired out just reading everything you’ve got going on.

Nothing much going on around here. My daughter had a procedure done today, we’re praying the results will be positive but won’t know till the first week in May. She came through today just fine, and thankfully is off til Monday. So’s her hubby and daughter, so she’s got plenty of help is she needs it. Besides, I’m only 2 min away, so we’ve got her covered.

Dinner’s going to be here Sunday, but with the great grandkids here it’ll be pretty quiet and believe me, that’s a first. They’ll be coming for a visit is a few weeks though, so we’re all looking forward to that! All in all, it will be a nice weekend. 🙂

In my spare time, I plan on visiting a good friend who just had a baby recently. Baby has been in and out of the hospital since she was born on March 27. I think she is in the clear now, so I’m going to go see them and finally hold her when she isn’t full of wires and cords. 🙂

Well wishes for your daughter! Enjoy your weekend!!

I just plan to do my workout and then tidy up. I’m slowly trying to put the house back together but I don’t want to hang anything on the walls or anything yet. I haven’t decided “what” to do in the room. I’ll get some suggestions on Sunday from Cathy and Nikki. I’d love to not put any of my old stuff back but I think there are a few things that *cough*cough*someone*cough* might miss! Don’t tell but I don’t want the china closet put back in here. It’s so dark and it doesn’t sit right on the floor. It looks like it’s going to fall backwards and it’s the only spot for it in the room. We’ll see what happens. I also want to find all my favorite photo’s and scrapbook and then mat and frame them. I miss having those up and it’s been years since I’ve had pictures hanging on the walls.

Paul’s home today so he’s going to do the last minute grocery shopping run in a little while and then we can do whatever we want. It’s too bad it’s raining here. There’s so much that needs to be done in the yard. I also have to get the candy ready to hide and I need to fill the plastic eggs. I love doing the Easter egg hunt.

    Have a great weekend all.

    • Nikki says:

I can’t think of anywhere else the china cabinet would go either. Is there even room in Paul’s room? Maybe if you don’t bring it up, it will be forgotten. Fingers crossed…although I do think it is a nice piece of furniture, it doesn’t stand right on that floor.

  7. Nikki says:

Is no one watching American Idol anymore?

    • Jenny says:

I am!!! My favorites are Lauren & Scotty oh and Casey…he’s weird! So those are my 3. Never liked Stefano, glad he’s gone. Don’t like the other guy either who was in the bottom 2 with Stefano lastnight. Wow, its coming down to the end!! Not a lot of people left.

      • Nikki says:

I like Lauren a lot. She is so sweet and her voice is beautiful! I’d love to hear her sing some Allison Krause (sp?) and I of course adore Scotty. I think no matter what, he will go big in the country scene. I wanted Stefano gone, and also Jacob and I think he’ll be the next to go. You know who has really grown on me though? James. I always have a clear winner picked, it’s been tough this year!

        • Jenny says:

oh yes, I forgot about James. I like him too, but I hate when he does the screaming!! Kinda like Adam Lambert did.

          • Nikki says:

Yeah, I don’t either. That’s also what I hate about Haley..she growls too much. I think my pick for the winner is James. That might change though! lol

  8. Joy says:

I’m still watching. I hope Jacob goes next and then Haley. I think Haley’s “gravel” sounds fake. I’m not fond of her. I like the ones you guys do though. I do like James and I know he’s really overcome a lot of things but I wouldn’t buy his stuff. I’d buy Lauren, Scotty and Casey’s stuff though. I wish Paul would have stayed longer but he creeped people out with his dancing. A lot of people did’t like that but I’d buy his stuff too. I love his voice.

  9. Laura says:

We’re having a relatively low-key Easter. Josh was off today, so they intended to let me sleep in, but Steve forgot to turn off his alarm… But I still got to sleep later than I would have, if Josh had had school.

Josh re-created The Passion with Lego today. I’m not sure if it’s creative or sacrilegious, but it was pretty interesting. He even set an alarm for 3:00 so he could remove Jesus from the Cross (he was held on with scotch tape…) and place him in the Tomb. I’m making arrangements for The Bunny to remove him on Easter Morning so when Josh goes to check, he’s gone…

It’s been cold and yukky-rainy all day, so we stayed in and melted our brains. Steve spent most of the day at the gym. Josh played, read, lost spectacularly to me at “Boot Camp” on the Wii, and watched some videos while he played with his race cars. I fought with my computer after an ill-fated update, got it fixed, surfed some, uninstalled Quicken after it told me that I was close to $150K in debt, and reinstalled it, and now I’m re-entering all our bills and whatnot, and reconfiguring the budget. Fun stuff. I also got the eggs boiled so we can decorate them tomorrow.

Tonight, we’re going to watch “Around the World in 80 Days,” with Jackie Chan. I’m thinking that Josh is going to LOVE the martial arts scenes. I just hope he doesn’t try to re-enact them on me!!

All in all, a pretty mellow day. Nice.
