Happy Friday! 🙂 How was everyone’s week? Good, I hope. Mine was pretty good, we had a couple of days of nice weather. Enough time to get the yard cleaned up, just for it to rain again. Today (Friday) is supposed to be really nice so we’re planning on taking the boat out again. Hopefully this time we’ll have a nicer time.

Bailey and his baseball team had their first game (Thursday) and they won! The end score was 12-2, and we could not be more proud of those boys. And I couldn’t be more proud of the coach (my hubby:) Thank you Sue, Trinity, Paul and Joy for coming to support him! He loves having an audience. lol

So, tell me about your week. Do you have any weekend plans?

I just want to know how and when he got so tall and so big and and get a load of his feet! When did that occur?? Weren’t him and Trin just babies last week?

It’s bitter-sweet. Of course, I want him to grow and become a wonderful man but it can slow down at ANY time now!!!! 😦

I think there’s something going on this weekend… I just can’t remember what. Josh has TKD, and is spending Saturday evening, possibly overnight, at a friend’s house… but I can’t for the life of me remember if there’s something else. I HATE when that happens!!

I got on a cleaning tear today. Did some windows, the dining room (which includes fixing the chairs that are always falling apart. Good thing we spent so dang much on them!), chiseled my way through Josh’s bathroom, and scrubbed out the oven. That’s always fun.

I think I’ll continue the trend and tackle the living room tomorrow – it’s also Josh’s playroom, so it is typically a deceptive nightmare. It always looks just a little cluttered, but when you look closely? the rug is actually just a layer of toys that have fused together and grown a layer of dog hair.

My week has been pretty good. Had some good evenings with the girls. Got some work done (though the past couple days could have been more productive). Got some house organizing done.

My oldest met a little milestone today – tying her shoes – and she’s quite proud of herself. Her younger sister’s been doing this for almost a year, but Miss A has some challenges and I just love the way she goes about things. So patient, once she decides it’s worth the effort. Then so quietly proud. Sweet girl.

My boss-partner has been out of town since yesterday, coming home tomorrow. So it’s been a little more relaxed around here, but I do need to get caught up on my work. I used the opportunity to clear out and straighten up some areas of the kitchen and my kids’ room. I may have mentioned this before, but a bunch of boss-partner’s relatives are coming next Tuesday from out of the country. Three families, who will stay for about 10 days. And one of them is very picky / germophobic. So I can see us scrambling around quite a bit to get the house ready. I plan to go to my parents’ for Mother’s Day, however. Friday evening I will try to find something for my mom for Mother’s Day and her birthday. On Saturday p.m., I’ll probably walk with the kids to the park, if our shopping gets done on Friday. That is, if I’m able to get away.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

I’m a random stranger surfing the global tag “life,” but I’ll happily chip in with my answer! I’m meeting up with a girlfriend for brunch Saturday, and doing blessedly little else the entire weekend! 🙂

  5. Sue says:

It’s suppose to be nice today!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get to go with my mom this morning to the AT&T store to help her pick out a new phone. This should be interesting! She doesn’t use the one she has, but they got a new car and it has sync technology so she needs a phone that’s compatible. I think she’s going to fall over when she sees the price of a new plan!

After that I plan on doing whatever I can outside 🙂 I think that may just involve reading my book, but I may get some yard work done, too. Soon it will be time to get in the garden and that will consume most of our hours for awhile. It’s all worth it though. Vicki’s husband, Sean, tilled it up for us a couple of weeks ago and we are very thankful! Now we’re hoping the garden really takes off.

Sunday we will be at Paul and Joy’s doing our annually Mother’s Day stuff. The girls and kids go to a local apple orchard that has a greenhouse and we plant our hanging baskets. It’s always fun. I think we’ve gotten some of the best shots of the kids there.

Speaking of the kids, Trin and I went to Bailey’s game last night and had a lot of fun. The boys did a great job and they are going to be a great team. It’s fun at this age b/c you can see their talent developing and how much they’ve improved.

That’s about it. Can’t wait to soak up the sun today 🙂

It’s fun to watch them grow, gain talent and develop friendships. This will be the team Bailey will play with through his years, give or take a few. Thanks for coming, it was fun to watch it you guys. I never sit in the bleachers, and I think I may from now on. You get a better view of the game and feel like you’re more a part of it.

      • Joy says:

I love sitting in/on the bleachers. You are more a part of things. I never liked sitting in the chairs. I find most of them uncomfy. I was glad to see the bleachers last night. My honest opinion is when you sit aside from the group, it looks very uppity. It was wonderful to get back into the baseball swing and it’s wonderful for me to be able to breathe like this. I wish we’d have gotten there sooner.

        • Nikki says:

Oh that’s okay! He has plenty more games, Monday actually if you’d like to come to that. You have his schedule, and he has a lot of home games this year. I did enjoy sitting in the bleachers. When I sit with the other mothers I sometimes get caught up in conversations and always miss something!

    • Joy says:

Will you be able to read your book in the daylight???? bahhhhhhaahahahahahahahahahhahaah

  6. Nikki says:

Today is already beautiful! When Lilly gets here, we’ll go for a run. I’m up to 2 miles and so far my knee has held up. I won’t push any further for a while though. I love that we have such a nice paved path along side the lake road. Makes for a really nice run in the morning. Then, I plan on spending all day outside! My tulips are coming up and my hundreds of Hostas are coming up nicely. I’m getting all my house work done before hand so I don’t have to worry about it later, or this weekend. We’re planning on taking the boat out right after dinner. Baseball practice Saturday, and then Mothers Day Sunday…Sue already told you all what we’re doing and I’m looking forward to that! I think we all love doing the flower thing, it’s become a nice tradition.

I have a question for you all. So Bailey wants to take his girlfriend on a “movie date” do I drop them off or go in and sit somewhere else???

    • Nikki says:

He doesn’t want me to go in, but I don’t what to do since this is all very new to me and I did not do these things when I was young.

    • Joy says:

OMG!!! Okay, aside from “he’s too young to be going on a date” because I’m sure on his wedding day I’ll be thinking that but knowing Bailey, I’d say you could drop them off. You know him. Unless he proves otherwise, I think he’s earned your trust and faith. He’s a good boy.

      • Nikki says:

I know I can trust him, and this girl is a nice girl too. She comes from a very nice, GOOD family. And it’s just a movie. He said a few might go, so it’s more or less a group of kids going.

I know, I really can’t believe it either. He’s matured SO much this year, I can’t hardly stand it.

    • SKL says:

Wow, a date! I would say you could stay if it’s a movie you want to see and/or you have nothing else to do during that time, but it’s not going to make much difference prophylactically unless you sit BETWEEN them. I think showing your son that you trust him to respect you and his girlfriend is important. Ask him how it went afterwards, though. You’ll be able to sense if it was a “healthy” get-together or not.

      • Nikki says:

I guess I wouldn’t really call it a DATE. They are only 10. lol They’ve been friends for a long time. We have an extremely open dialog. He literally tells me everything! EVERYTHING!!!!

        • Laura says:

I’m watching this very closely… Josh is 7. Although, unless he does some serious maturing, there won’t be any dates until he’s closer to 20…

        • Sue says:

If it’s just the 2 of them going, it’s a date! I would opt for a group thing and I would also be sitting in the back of the theater! LOL!

          • Nikki says:

I agree!!!! But I won’t go in, I don’t think. I will sit outside the theater though! LOL

            • Laura says:

Don’t sit outside the theatre. You’ll just torture yourself. although… is there another movie going on at the same time, that you want to see? You could go there. Otherwise, I’m thinking… an hour and a half of shopping for you.

              • Nikki says:

I’ve heard of kids saying they’re going to the movies but then they sneak out and walk around town. I should know better than to think he’d do that. Sometimes people say to me, “you’re just saying that because he’s your kid” but I honestly don’t see him doing too much to get into trouble.

    • Jenny says:

I’m pretty sure I would go in and sit somewhere else

      • Nikki says:

Maybe I’ll just say no and not worry about it at all!! They are going fishing next Friday, there will be 3 of them. And she can come here if she wants. I think that’s more than acceptable. I don’t like even having these things to worry about!

  7. SKL says:

I got a call from my sister L, whose baby is in the NICU. It was a good report. Baby is up to 3 lbs, breathing is a lot better, and other systems are working. The big news was, baby is allowed to wear clothes now. Aww! The things we take for granted . . . .
