It’s Friday the 13th! Do you suffer from “friggatriskaidekaphobia?” (Phobia of Friday the 13th) A surprising number of Americans are superstitious. Are you one of them? What is your superstition?

Definitely NOT! Or I wouldn’t be driving nearly 700 miles throng the night. Yawn.

  2. Laura says:

I don’t think I have any superstitions… unless you count really challenging God as one. When i get really p’d off at my circumstances, I’ll go out on the back deck and ask Him what the HECK??? And vent and rage. But before I go in, I’ll always apologize, just in case I went overboard, and He gets any madder at me than He already is…

  3. Nikki says:

No, it’s just another day in my book.

I didn’t answer the full question! I don’t think I have any real superstitions. I still hold my breath going through tunnels.

I found some interesting things about the #13

*More than 80 percent of high-rises lack a 13th floor.
*Many airports skip the 13th gate.
      *Airplanes have no 13th aisle.
*Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13.
*Italians omit the number 13 from their national lottery.
*On streets in Florence, Italy, the house between number 12 and 14 is addressed as 12 and a half.
*Many cities do not have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue
*In France, socialites known as the quatorziens (fourteeners) once made themselves available as 14th guests to keep a dinner party from an unlucky fate.
*Many triskaidekaphobes, as those who fear the unlucky integer are known, point to the ill-fated mission to the moon, Apollo 13.
*If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil’s luck . Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names.

My grandma was born on Friday the 13th in 1913 so 13 is one of my favorite numbers and I gladly welcome the day. I think of her all day. Not that I don’t every other day but this one is special because there aren’t very many of them.

  5. SKL says:

My best friend’s and sister’s birthdays fall on Friday the 13th, so they consider it lucky for them. Personally I find superstitions to be more fun than scary. I am not one to worry about bad things happening – I focus more on being able to get through whatever happens.
