We aren’t really big prankers but the only big surprise like this I can think of is when Jason and Nikki moved back home from CA, we were supposed to pick them up at the bus station in St. Cloud. They were going to call us from MPLS and we’d leave to get them. Toby and Sue were here and we were making welcome home posters and they just walked in the door. They’d had friends pick them up in MPLS and came here to surprise us.

I don’t think this is a prank but we didn’t really do much of that. It sure was a shock when they came walking in the door.

I don’t know that a prank has ever been played on me. I’ll have to think about it.

Well, let’s see…. there was my 16th birthday, when my family gave me a card in it with this poem that went on about how mature I was, and I was finally old enough to have a horse of my own, and it was waiting out back. So I went running out there, and there stood my old rocking horse.

Or my wedding when we returned home from our honeymoon to find little pictures of Barney the Evil Dinosaur EVERYWHERE – between the glass on the microwave door, behind outlet plates, inside light fixtures, stuck to the tv, in the fridge, you name it, there was a dinosaur picture. I’m told they hid 400 of them. We found 200 before we sold that house.

Or the Christmas Eve that we returned to the house to find a giant Barney the Evil Dinosaur sitting on the roof of our house…

    yeah, my family is notorious…

    • Nikki says:

LMAO what’s up with the evil dinosaur?!?! That is hilarious!

      • Laura says:

Yep, the “Barney the Evil Dinosaur” is “Barney”. When we lived in Texas, there was a news story that there had been an accident on the set where they filmed Barney. Seems, in the Texas Heat (which is EPIC), they use a hair dryer set on “cool” to keep the guy inside the suit from overheating. Well, there was a problem, and the hairdryer overheated or something and set the suit on fire.

It was absolutely hilarious, because the guy in the suit was just fine, didn’t even get singed, got out of the suit before any damage was done. But the suit was a total loss. It made my week.

    • Joy says:

I take it you don’t like Barney!! That’s good to know for future reference.

      • Laura says:

No, I’m not a fan… and people take advantage of that knowledge. Believe me. My mom once made a Barney Cake for my birthday, and gave me a sharp knife to cut it for serving. It was very satisfying.

the only one I can think of was when my nephew and sister had fun after I went to bed. They stayed up and plastic wrapped my bedroom door opening so when I opened it in the AM I walked into the plastic. The did that to the toilet seat too.I know they did more things but I can’t remember. They sure did enjoy themselves.

I can’t think of any good ones that have been played on me. I’ve played a few on others, but nothing really awesome.
