Used to play a clarinet in high school until 11th grade and I quit. Really wanted to learn how to play the guitar so I started teaching myself but it didn’t turn out so well.

  2. Ellen says:

No, I am not able to play any instrument nor can I sing a note correct. But I can dance really well 🙂 so, I have some rhythm my body 🙂

  3. Joy says:

I played the flute and piano as a child. I can play guitar hero pretty well.

  4. Jason says:

I know what everyone is thinking. Jason your from the South shouldn’t you and MSSC both be well versed in instruments such as the banjo, mouth harp, washboard, and the jug? But alas I can only play the radio at an expert level. I have played the piano and guitar when I was younger though.

I am not a virtuoso on any instrument, but the one I can still make a tune on is the piano. I still have my 3/4 size violin from elementary school, but it’s pretty scary when I try to play it. I’d like to refresh my skills, but it’s so loud, I feel bad putting anyone through that. Maybe someday. I played the trumpet and French horn for a while in HS, but it has been a really long time since I even held one, so I’ve probably forgotten what to do with them. I started to teach myself classical guitar on my brother’s guitar, but never got very far. Always thought I’d buy myself a guitar and take that up again. Maybe I’ll do it with my kids someday.

I can carry a tune OK (have a decent range too) and I can whistle. I can play imaginary drums really well. Does a recorder count? How about a harmonica?

This morning I learned why our pastor doesn’t chant. When I was a kid, our old pastor used to chant at least half of the order of worship. So today this dude decided to chant a few lines, and it was pretty bad. “Who’s killing the cat” kind of bad. Stick to talking, pastor, we won’t mind.

  6. Nikki says:

I play the worlds smallest violin for my husband and son all the time! 😉

No, really I don’t play any instrument. Never tried.

  7. Laura says:

Funny this should come up. Yes, I play the flute. Started when I was ten. I’ve been missing it tremendously, the past year or so, but you can only play for yourself for so long, you know? So yesterday, when we were leaving the pool, I happen to notice a sign in the window of a van parked in the lot, “Wanted: FLUTISTS! The Independence City Band needs Instrumentalists! Call ____”

There was a lady sitting in the car, and she noticed my notice of her sign. We talked for a minute, exchanged phone numbers, and voila! Band Practice is Thursday Night!! I’m so excited!

    • Joy says:

I’m thrilled for you. You’re going to have so much fun. Pictures to follow I’m going to assume 🙂

    • Phyllis says:

Good for you, Laura! You play the flute really well! I always enjoyed listening through the windows in the summer months when you were growing up. Go for it! You’ll be GREAT!

No, I don’t play any instruments. Used to play the accordian for a while when I was younger, but didn’t want to compete with my older brother (who stills plays on occasion). I’ve always wanted to play the piano, I really enjoy piano music. Maybe I can talk my friend into teaching me on a keyboard one of these days.

  8. Sue says:

I play trumpet and can still pump out a pretty mean tune! I can kind of play piano and am also awesome at guitar hero!
