Question of the day from Jenny

As in kissing? Lol
I used to be pretty tight with a couple of my male cousins. But since we live about 800 miles appart now…
I used to.
When I was younger I was pretty close to some of my cousins. Not so much now. Life, I guess. I do keep in contact with a few on fb though.
I also used to. My cousin, Karen, and I are about two weeks apart. And as kids, we were best buddies, even though we didn’t see each other often. Well, we did, up until about age 8 or so, when they moved to Michigan. Even then, we got to see each other quite a bit. We were horse fanatics together, we both took up the flute, we both loved writing stories, climbing the dunes near her house… oh, the fun we had! But, as so often happens, life got in the way. We both got into high school, found other commitments that kept our families from visiting so much. But still, to this day, with both of us (ahem) over 25… when we see each other, it’s like we were never apart. We just have TONS to talk about!
No. For a while we used to spend a lot of time with my cousin who is a year younger than me. Then they moved out of state, and we’ve only seen each other once since. I have some cousins who live closeby, but we only see each other at major family functions (like weddings). We were not close growing up – they were mostly older. One cousin is in an institution and I haven’t seen him in probably 20 years. A couple of younger cousins have a mom who is a mental case, thinks we hate her family, and wouldn’t even let my mom’s brother attend my sister’s wedding (though we did spend time together in the past). My other cousins have never lived nearby and we never did get to know each other much.
I have to say I don’t see my kids being that close to their cousins, either, with the possible exception of my younger sister’s kids. There is too much age difference and we only get together on major holidays and such.
Growing up I was very close to one cousin. She is 6 weeks younger than me. She lived with my grandma so I’d spend a lot of time with her. Now, we only see each other when I go back to CA. Facebook keeps us up to date with each others lives for the most part.
Now, I’m not close to any of my cousins. I live too far away. The closest cousins I have to me now, live in Iowa and I get to see them more than any of the other ones.
Growing up we were super close with Sue & her siblings Julie & Tommy. We are still close with them today.
I would say the same thing Jenny 🙂 We did EVERYTHING together growing up and I would say Jenny and I stayed the ‘closest’ because we don’t live far from each other!
and we go out a lot together 😀
