The jig is up — guys like to cuddle more

I saw this on the news one day last week and couldn’t find it but I wrote it down for “future reference” when voila, it came on The Today show this morning.

Toby happened to be over here and we just looked at each other and thought “ya, right” but we did talk about it. I think we both feel the same way. I’m not a “sleep cuddler.” Once it’s time to sleep, LEAVE ME ALONE. He said he feels the same way. But watching TV or sitting by a fire or something like that, cuddling is awesome. I feel like someone is trying to smother me when I’m trying to sleep. I get claustrophobic. Is that weird?

So, are you a cuddler? Do you like to cuddle while you sleep or just when the mood strikes you?

PS. I know cuddler isn’t a word but I think it should be!!!!!

I think cuddling is nice, but I can’t handle it for too long. I have to lie flat or I’ll be a mess the next day. When I was younger it was a different story.

I am skeptical about the “men like to cuddle more” stat. But, what do I know?

I like to cuddle while sleeping until Jason gets all sweaty and gross. Then I kick him away. Cuddling is nice, but I do like my own space too.

I’ve always been a “lone sleeper”. If my husband didn’t take it personally, I’d probably request separate rooms. Or at least separate beds, like Lucy and Ricky (I Love Lucy) had. I can’t do the whole “sleep on top of one another” thing. I even get twitchy if he touches me in the middle of the night. It’s not personal, I’m just weird. I need my space.

But, for sitting and watching videos or whatever, as long as it isn’t hot, I’m good with it.

I like to cuddle in front of the TV or just talking but I love to cuddle and fall asleep like that, but most times we both wake up half and turn around. But still we touch: a foot or just a hand. Yeah, I know still newly weds 🙂

  5. Cuddler should be a word! I read the same article, and found that in my case it was true. My husband enjoys to be cuddle much more than me. Don’t get me wrong I do like it from time to time, but I am always thinking about the thousands of other things that I need to do. I have a difficult time sitting still for that long. It was definitely an interesting article. I go to msnbc every morning because it is the only way that I stay on top of what is going on in the world. Don’t like feeling completely out of the loop here in Germany.

I like to cuddle during TV or movie time, and sometimes at bed time but that never lasts too long. When I want to go to sleep, cuddling time is over. Jason would agree. I sleep on my side and can’t have his arm laying on my side or it starts to hurt my ribs.

And I’d really like to kiss that kitten right on his little lips!
