What do you think of this new trend?
The new trend in parties…and divorces…is DIVORCE PARTIES!! If you’re divorced, did it make you feel like celebrating? Did you have an actual party?

Well, to each their own I guess. No, I didn’t really feel like celebrating. Murder, yes! Party, NO!
With the price of an attorney, I don’t see how anyone could afford to throw a party afterward.
If the divorce was a tough one, heck yea I would want to celebrate after it was finally over!
I suppose it would depend on the circumstances of the divorce, but on the whole, it seems like the divorce parties that I’ve read about have been along the lines of, “Hah! You’re out of my life and now look at how happy I am” – and aimed at the spouse, as opposed to a celebration of the beginning of a new life. I think if it was centered around the second theme, as opposed to the first, that it would be ok.
Well, I’ve been divorced and I never felt like a party. I actually felt very sad. But I also never hated the person I divorced so maybe that makes it different.
Divorces are so sad! I can’t see wanting to celebrate a failed marriage but that’s just me. I have seen this in person. Quite a few years back, a big group of people came into this bar we were at and the one girl had a “just divorced” tank top on. It was like a bachelorette party! I thought it was distasteful.
Especially when there are kids involved, it is no very tasteful to throw a divorce party.
