Well, looky there, it’s Friday! This week has gone by so incredibly fast I didn’t even realize it! I had a good week, what about you? I’m not sure what’s going on this weekend. Sunday, we have a BBQ with our baseball team and I’m really looking forward to that. We have quite a few newbies and I haven’t even met a few of the parents. Other than that, I’m not sure we have anything else going on. Maybe get the boat out and do some fishing. So, unload your week? How was it? Any weekend plans? Whatever you have going on, even if it’s absolutely nothing, enjoy it! 🙂

Well my week has been very interesting. I got careless at work and allowed a 200psia hose with 300° plus water get away from me. It “melted” the skin on my ankle foot. Burn doctors put some Gama-radiated cadavar skin on me. So I’ve got a dead person’s skin fussing (hopefully) onto my ankle.
Feel free to share the pictures if anyone wants to see what a skin graft looms like.
Ouch!!
Actually, it doesn’t look all that bad. Mind, I don’t want to switch places with him, but as far as grafts go, this one is a nice, healthy pink one.
Yeh, if I could just get the skin grafting without having to have the melted skin burn thing…
Burns really hurt. I hope you’re better soon.
Oh, FINALLY!! This week has been one of those skewed ones. Usually, when we go to Chicago, we travel home on Sunday. This week we came home on Monday, and ALL week I’ve been off (Peanut Gallery: keep the comments to yourselves!!). All day I was thinking today was Friday. I hate when that happens.
Well, Monday is the first day of school, so I spent today dealing with some preparatory things. WHY do kid’s shoes have to be so bloomin’ expensive??? After coupons and sales, they still averaged out to $25 a pair. I still have to order pants for Josh. I’m getting him the Land’s End “Iron Knees” pants. Stopped at Sears in the hopes that they would have some, but our Sears isn’t big enough to carry Land’s End. They had Docker’s double knees, though, for $12 a pair. I was all excited until we discovered that they didn’t have a single pair in his size! *sigh*
Also putting out fires for our Scout Pack. Seems like that’s my new job. No offense to the boys around here, but I’m the only woman in the “management” of the pack, so it seems like all the admin falls to me. The two guys who used to do it (and did it very well) are trying to extricate themselves and move up to the Troop level, and we’re supposed to be taking over. My fellow leaders are doing awesome at the “leader” part, but I’m the only one comfy with the administration and ‘organization of paperwork’ part, so I get to do all that crap… But I’m good at it, so I’ll keep doing it. And only complain a little, because I really don’t mind doing it.
My week has not been very exciting. Just the continuation of the KG saga which I won’t belabor here, and work and the usual life stuff.
This weekend, I was planning to take the kids to a waterpark about an hour away, but now I’m not sure. My sister’s Sunday switched from not-available to available (for babysitting) and since she needs the money, I will probably just work as usual. On Saturday evening, I’ll probably take the kids to the zoo. We also need to get together a short list of school supplies for Miss A. I think I already have everything, but I need to make sure and get it all ready. I have to fill out a bunch of school forms and pay various fees, and then we’ll be ready for the new school year.
Well, I hope everyone has a great week!
Well, it looks like we’ll take our boat out this evening. Looking forward to that! I will also be enjoying a glass or 2 of wine! I got this huge bag of girlie goodies, pampering stuff and a bottle of wine with glasses for my birthday. I haven’t been able to enjoy any of it, due to a medication I’ve been on. I also get a truck load of landscaping mulch for my yard today! 🙂 My brother can get a truck load for $10 from his work, so we’re taking advantage of that!
Have a great weekend everyone!!
holy cow!! $10 for mulch!!!! Man I wish I could get some of that…lol I could use a lot too. Mulch seems to disappear. What kind of wine do you drink?
It’s all the stuff they take away when customers want new. But they mostly deal with businesses and expensive homes so it’s still good stuff.
Wine, I generally like a good red wine. Pinot Noir is my favorite kind, I like it to be a tad dry and no spice. What I have is a white zen, and it’s chilled. It’s not what I would typically buy but I’ll drink it! LOL
Well apparently I got new mulch! It’s a shredded pine. I could probably figure a way out to get you some. You’d just have to come here to get it. He loaded the back of my truck FULL for $15!
Lucky LUCKY you. Enjoy. Isn’t it nice to be done with the radiation? I’m so enjoying today. Catch fish so we can have a fish fry.
We’ll try! 🙂
It’s a beautiful day out today. I’ve been working in the flower beds the last couple days and I got a nice blister on my thumb from the shovel. Yea I know I should be wearing gloves especially since I give massages, but I don’t know where mine are.
We might be taking Hunter to the Forest City Stockade this weekend sometime. I think he would enjoy looking at all the old machinery. I read that there is gonna be old steam engines there too, so he would love that!
Joy, you’re header reminds me of fall. Which is sad and happy at the same time. Summer is almost over and then the cooler weather comes. But I do enjoy going apple picking and pumpkin picking. So I look forward to that!
It’s just wonderful out today. Last night on the news they said it was going to rain today and be really humid but it’s GLORIOUS. I have clothes on the line and like Jenny said, it’s beautiful here today.
I’m doing the “happy dance” today. I’m so relieved my mom’s radiation is over. She’s very burned in that spot. It looks like someone put an iron on her. I hadn’t seen it until Wed and it looks so sore. She never complains. I just told her to put that salve on LIBERALLY. She’s so chintzy sometimes. I told her this is what having money is for!!! In the back of my mind for the last 6 weeks I’ve wondered if everything and everyone bringing her would be safe and it would all go well and it did but it feels SO. GOOD. to be over. Now we just pray it killed the cancer.
I’m doing a bunch of nothing today. Just little projects that at the end of the day are never done. I see one thing on my way to do something else and the ADD takes over and I start a bunch of stuff and finish NOTHING!!!! LOL!!! I’m re-potting a bunch of plants, swiffering the floors and doing laundry. I hope I accomplish some of it before the day is over.
I just found out that Buffalo has it’s craft fair and farmer’s market tomorrow. I’d wanted to go to the swappers meet tomorrow but I may just head to Buffalo. I love craft fairs and it’s time for me to decorate my “new” living room. Right now I’m looking for a nice mirror and some sepia prints.
Have a great weekend all.
I know what you mean about the relief from the cancer treatment. I’m glad your mom was able to stick it out – my granny gave up because the chemo got so bad. (Didn’t want to say that earlier!) Praying that the cancer is gone for good!
Sometimes I’d really love to spend a day doing those little domestic/personal projects. Today I was kinda surprised it is Friday – as in, I have a half day left before I need to have something to show for a week of work. It’s been a weird week. Not a whole lot getting done. Kinda like one of those dreams where you’re busy, busy, but not getting anywhere. I have a bunch of little things that are like mosquitos, bugging me – each one not super easy nor super hard. Some stuff that is politically charged, making me want to just wish it away. If I spend the whole day getting it all done, and boss-partner asks what I did all day, I will still have nothing really to say. This is not my favorite kind of day.
