  1. Joy says:

Not really. I think it’s a fun concept but no, not really.

  2. Jenny says:

I wish it were true, but nope I don’t.

  3. SKL says:

You mean as in, some of us have more of it than others, or there are ways to get more of it? Not really. It is fun to play around with the idea, though.

    • Joy says:

Just if you believe in it at all.

      • SKL says:

I believe that bad things happen to good people and vice versa. That you can spend your whole life being careful and have something bad happen anyway. In other words, I believe that humans’ control over the future is limited. Not sure if that translates into “luck” or not.

  4. I believe in luck, but only in the sense that sometimes you win (metaphorically or not) despite the odds being against you, and sometimes you lose despite the odds being in your favor. Not that any of us have sway over it, or that some of us are blessed with good luck while others are cursed with bad luck. It’s just how the ball bounces. Either its in your favor or its not. It’s not a force or entity; just a simple concept.

  5. I suppose I believe in creating your own luck…?

  6. Laura says:

In some ways I do, and in some I don’t. Example: Steve (my hubs) was damn lucky that he didn’t kill himself in that wreck. But overall, he wasn’t lucky at all, or the wreck never would have happened.

So maybe it’s more “karma” that I believe in – you know, if you do nice, nice will come to you. Because as much as I struggle with the “be nice” part, especially when I’m in the trough of the blues, it seems to be true.

  7. Sue says:

I agree with Peter. I also believe the saying, “Everything happens for a reason.” Is it luck or fate or karma? IDK, but I think your general attitude towards life helps you along.

  8. Joy says:

Yes, I do believe in karma but I don’t think karma and luck are the same thing.

  9. Nikki says:

No, and I don’t. Everything happens, for no particular reason-it just happens. I also do not believe in karma.
